A man was hit by a flying propeller from the Harold ride.

If you want a SAFE, and FUN day out, go to a preserved railway. Much better than this PC Nonsense.

What a bunch of whingers and cynics! How wonderful for kids to be able to see Thomas at Thomas Land or the railways - whichever their families choose.

Thomas is a character that lives at neither of these places. Thomas lives in a child's imagination. To get shirty at HIT/Thomas Land over concern over revenue for the individual railways shows your hearts aren't in the right place. Thomas isn't there so serve the railway.

my local "real railway" hired an actual thomas steam engine, and has 4 thomas weekends a year, the connection help bring alot of business to them and keeps them going!

hit should die! thank go they wernt around in my younger days. when i went to day out with thomas in 95 96 97 98 99 2000 they used real steam engins for thomas. hit uses deisels coverd with a thomas body.

This sort of commercial enterprise is what's killing Britain's preserved lines - they rely on Thomas the Tank Engine branding to attract kids (sadly, the lure of a steam locomotive alone is not enough). Thanks to projects like this along with strict new licensing rules laid down by HIT Entertainment, preserved steam railways just lost a lifeline... congratulations, HIT Entertainment! I took my two children to Drayton Manor especially to let them see Thomas Land. It's a small section of a larger theme park, and very new. The rest of the theme park is okay, but it's a pity that the Thomas section wasn't set away from the main park, rather than being "encapsulated"
