While one can understand the American 8th Air force bombers , engaged in " Precision " daylight raids over Germany doing this to maximise the defensive guns effect , it is silly in the context of torpedo bombers who need to come in to their target from several directions so as to divide the target's defensive guns and control positions - but the RAF believe it demonstrates " Smartness " . How many lives wasted on that ?

Those last few seconds after collision must have been absolutely appalling. I find it very hard to watch anything die, and my blood ran cold seeing this. Segregator236, please realise that whilst this is rare footage of Coastal Command Beauforts, it is not to be celebrated. These young men died in the pursuit of our freedom. Your "Hallelujah!" is entirely inappropriate.
