I never noticed this before, but does anyone else think that Hulk looks a little like Boris Karloff as the Frankenstein Monster in these cartoons. To the guys complaining about how the characters move, it's because the animation was done on the cheap, basically animating the actual comic frames.
Thanks for posting these classic 60's cartoons. The emphasis was on the voices of the characters and the music. I love the simple animation sketches. 60's rule!!
when hulk transformed back to bruce and he's holding betty for a frame he's general ross ha ha thats some recycling there are a few of these scenes like the fight in the ross home he's outside he's inside
You have to like the lyrics which suggest that all these years, Hulk has been numero uno by bringing as much sheer power power to play against the Army, aliens and monsters as.... a bull.
Yeah, there's a lot of unmistakable trademark Ditko artwork in there. Most of the Kirby artwork looks like it's recycled from Hulk #1. But I don't remember Steve Ditko ever drawing the Hulk. How many issues did he do?
BTW Thanks for posting this up. I haven't seen these old Marvel Men toons in years. I remember watching these after school on WPIX.
Actually this series was done by Grant-Ray-Lawrence studios, and they basically animated the art by Kirby, Ditko, Kane, Bob Powell, Mike Esposito, Bill Everett and John Buscema.
I recently came into these episodes, and they are in pretty good quality. Im starting to upload them. Im going to start with episode 7. Go to my channel top view. If you like subscribe.
This is my first time seeing this cartoon. It looked like a slide show of lot of comic book panels that have minnimum movement in each one. Not as good as the 60's Spider-Man cartoon. The theme song could've been better too. Still, this is a unique treat. I'll take all the Hulk stuff I can get!
Nice, I hope these keep coming. I love these old things...99% faithful to the actual comics!
By the way, I'm trying to figure out a way to put these on an audio CD (I own some burned DVDs of all of them, but these are better visually) but can't figure out how the hell to do it! Anyone know how?
It really wouldn't be worth the trouble to do it. In order to fit them on a 700MB audio CD, you have to compress the hell out of them, and you wouldn't be able to fit even half of them on there. Not to mention that the quality would be abominable.
It depends mostly on your source material. These are better visually because they were recorded off versions that have been cleaned up for broadcast.
Classic but I'm so glad they created a better powerful Hulk than this one with a better story line . Remember, Hulk strongest there is.

Yeah, said that to myself only a few minutes ago, watching another. And like someone else said, there's Marlon Brando cut to him too!

yeah originally he was modeled after Frankenstein.
Sounds like Hulk is drunk when he talks

i think incredible hulk was inspired after the monster frankenstien ... i have a feeling about it another copy of frankenstien but slightly voilent
unholyblackheart 3 years ago
Aside from the Hulk being able to speak, it seems like Ang Lee was inspired by this series.

The animation in these cartoons has a lot to be desired, but the plot was pretty faithful to the earliest Hulk comics.

Notice the art switches from Kirby to Ditko and back again. They forgot the Gremlin.Love the crappy animation.Lots of jumps in storytelling.

I'm too lazy to check my "Essential Hulk", but I know Ditko drew several issues of the Hulk in "Tales to Astonish".
blahblahbleebleeblah 3 years ago
This episode was adapted from HULK #2, which was drawn by Jack Kirby, but inked by Steve Ditko.
Ditko also drew HULK #6 before it was cancelled and then TALES TO ASTONISH #60-67 when they brought him back.

XD He looks like Frankenstien early on in this episode, and around 2:20 he looks like Elvis. Epic animation XP

Hulk looks like Frankenstein in this, plus he's too much like a villian, and he's suppose to be a good guy

This is how the Hulk was originally, which i think makes for an interesting character.
