Something about this plane's cockpit and design of the windows that give it a really strange feel. Big plane features, but still looks and feels small. I don't know. Just unusual.
Cool twin prop plane. Quicker than King Airs. Made 2 flights from San Carlos (CA) to Mammoth Lakes (CA) and then from San Carlos (CA) to Las Vegas (NV).
I'm French but back in 1999 my mother was living there and her boyfriend who was owning 2 planes at SQL : a 182 and an MU2 Marquise. He sold it in 2001 to Nascar driver Bobby Hamilton. Takeoff and landing with the MU2 at SQL were so impressive because of the length of the airstrip, he nicknamed San Carlos the "aircraft carrier". What I really liked at San Carlos is Larry Ellison's hangar with all his toys .
I saw an MU2 years ago when i was a kid. It landed at this tiny airport in Stephenville TX and picked some folks up and then promptly departed. It was painted completely red and i thought it was the most exotic and awesome plane i'd ever seen.
