I have another choice -- use a wide toothed comb!!! You're totally right in saying brushing it when dry will ruin the curl texture, but please don't use a brush on wet hair :( wide toothed combs are much gentler and they detangle just as well! Love your hair btw :)
This helped me a lot! I have the same type of hair as you, and kind did the same thing with my hair, but before I used to mess with the roots to much, and like you said it get very frizzy, but doing as you said and not handling the roots so much.. My hair isn't as frizzy :) thanks!
P.s can totally relate to the lion king hair :) lol
My hair is quite frizzy at the hairline, but the rest is wavy/curly. After I shower, I use a detangling spray and anti-frizz cream, and either braid my hair or put it in a ponytail and twist the..... Um... Tail? Lol. So yeah I basically just twist it but it still hangs down. So when it's dry, i use my fingers to comb it, which makes it look curly and neat.
Um, the thing about my hair is that it's naturally straight at the top, wavy at the middle, and curly at the bottom. Now, I really have some frizz, and sometimes my hair looks amazing, but sometimes it doesn't ): my scalp is very oily, and I have to wash my hair everyday, even though they say it's bad. I really want to know how to keep it tamed in cool curls, not messed around, and to defrizz it as much as possible. Help? ): I've been using Bed Head's small talk.
@FluffMisheru I would say to stop washing your hair every day.. i know your scalp can get oily, consider getting a dry shampoo! if you have darker hair, consider the oscar blandi dry shampoo, its for darker hair so the white residue wont show. TIP: with the dry shampoo, since you have curly hair, dont brush your hair to distribute the dry shampoo, just run your fingers through the roots to distribute, and as far as frizz, like i said a cream would be your best bet to help with de frizzing....
@FluffMisheru also if a cream doesn't help, use very small amount of a waxy hair product, it will hold down the little fly aways too! bed head make really good ones!
what if you have relaxed your hair over and over again, and your starting to grow natural curls back in with the straight, how do you deal with that? and i cant have it wet for too long, so its like a time bomb before it fluffs out, so i put it in and OUTRAGEOUSLY tight bun or braid hoping to tame it, but i go to sleep and wake up and its still not dry, then i comb it out and it looks okay damp but when it dries its a freakin mess. i Really just want to have a nice natural style...(T.T)
@xXxMoonLolitaxXx umm thats a little out of my personal knowledge, i have a friend that is doing that come to think of it.... i would try possibly more styling creams for curly hair, those are a bit thicker and will hold a curl a lot better than thinner creams.. also there are a lot of products for relaxed hair which may also help :)
message me here on yt, and let me know how it goes or if you have anymore q's!!
uhh i naturally have really straight hair, like literally it has NO body/wave like at all.....&i was getting tired of it cus all i could do is straighten it, (it doesnt hold curl if i curl it) so about a month ago i got a spiral perm, &i love it! but if i dont manage it, it will get frizzy...i use herbal essences mousse &TreSemme friz spray on it, as well as a silk serum..i also use the John Frieda Frizz Ease(:
