  • He is My Guitar Hero !!!!!

  • well it's impressive for sure... for an ipad... but I still prefer a Fender Twin reverb from the '70

  • ok, and how can i play this?

  • I preferred his older distortion than this fuzz, but every time you hear johnson playing you just know its him : )

  • Thank god there are still technichal players who like to use Strats.

  • I just quit porn after watching this...

  • I am digging that tone!! Damn that sounds good

  • great guy

  • Yep, a masterpiece. There's a few, this is one of them.

  • maestro de la guitarra!!!!!!

  • My friend said Eric Johnson was shit, I punched him in the face! I also said "look mate, stop comparing Eric Johnson to god, I mean he is good, but hes no Eric Johnson

  • love it!!! he plays like an angel!!! sweet!!!

  • love it!!! is heaven!!!

  • How about an iPhone app?!

  • I can play every single note of this song. It takes me 18 hours to do it.... sigh.

  • i can play this in real life... (not the song, the guitar) hahaha lol

  • whare i can get the tab. please

  • Man was was put on earth to play guitar. Fucking sick, I love it!!!!!

  • its not hard to playit its hard to came up with it...

  • is he the first guitarist to turn the TONE knob, all the way down? cuz it sounds baddass : wicked boomplowza!

  • @BeefSupreme288 nah most Jazz players do that. but yeah his tone still rocks

  • @BeefSupreme288 he always use fuzz drive..or something like that..and his overdrive's tone is always like that..maybe mid-tone or in the range of 1 - 10, he uses 3 maybe 4...as far as my own research is correct..hahaha... try using fuzz as your dirty sound using a strat, set the tone to 3 or 4...see what I mean..

  • Eric and that string skipping style is awesome! Wish I had hands like that! To me Eric is the best.

  • @sharpsound2011 Unless your hands are damaged, you do have hands like that, and you can learn to play this. Like anything else, string skipping is just a skill to be drilled until you have it down, if you want it bad enough to keep at it. Watch his right hand closely, and you'll notice that he makes it easy on himself with hybrid picking, while John McLaughlin would just pick the whole thing.

  • I see he's doin' alot of pull-offs... thought he picked more notes when younger...

  • the tone's a little too fat for my taste

  • uses a lot more downstrokes than I thought. Is he mostly a sweep picker?

  • I used to be able to play guitar like that... then I took an arrow in the knee.

  • how the fuck does he get that old creamy strat tone????

  • dammit. now i want a strat.

  • Is this what heaven sounds like?

  • fuck hes good!!!!

  • He almost missed a chord at :20!! He IS human! lol

  • Treble side of neck pickup quite high.....interesting.

  • Look at those scorch marks on the fretboard!

  • Simple wonderful to hear this played the way he does

    Thanks for sharing

    John

  • fukk-yeah

  • This video is like an early christmas present for me. A lesson from Eric Johnson on how to play Cliffs of Dover. It doesn't get any better than that!! (Unless of course it was a private 1 to 1 in person) I need to get me an iPad.

  • beautfiul chord work

  • I wish I had an iPad, no wait, i wished I played like this

  • great , me too trying to master those skills , great work

  • i can do that in my sleep... cause i can do anything in my dreams

  • @jonpbody :)

  • Hate this guy!

    He's just far to good!

  • Hate this guy!

He's just far to fucking good!

  • shpuld have an iMac app also

  • his picking is so clean.

  • action seems ultra-low

  • Best guitarist evar!!!!!!!!

  • Just an all around top notch guitar instructor , one of todays top guitar instructors !

    God Bless American Made instruments

  • awesome!!!

  • Beautiful, and he happens only to be using the delay effect on his amplifier. :D

  • amazing guitar player. eric johnson

  • loves his tone!!!!!

  • He's got the sweetest vibrato.

  • who needs Backing track?

    alright I do.

  • I just spent a year transcribing this note for note nuance for nuance by ear. Then I read the description to this video lol. I still think transcribing it for yourself is much more helpful than having someone teach it to you - even if that someone is Eric himself!! Amazing video though

  • Is there somewhere I can find tabs for the opening section of this with all the clean chords, up to 0.27 ?

  • not quite as clean as he used to be. slowed down a bit too. still one of the best players around and my favorite guitarist.

  • Eric Johnson playing Cliffs of Dover in the key of LOVE!

  • hes lost some speed but none the less its beautiful

  • On the record this was actually played on a 335.

  • The boy has got some melody

  • @bluebrowne13 orly

  • It's AMAZING how fat his tone is here. His toggle switch is in the bridge pickup position on a fender strat. Normally a very bright tone would result from this setup.

  • Not the best of tone considering it's Eric, but still great nonetheless.

  • 1 CC DeVille fans "disliked" this video....

    EJ is the master!

  • @DLRisVH ahahah great comment..quote

  • @DLRisVH cc deville is a great guitarist too, and im a big poison fan too

  • Amazing as always. Love this! EJ playing this without Rythmn section. THank you!!!!

  • Oh my god!

  • Awesome.

  • holy shit

  • NOICE!
