  • I want this sooooooooooooo badly!!!!!!!!

  • To be honest what i like in the most are the handbooks, i mean the quality, the colors r amazing i'd like to get those.....great video btw.

  • How much it all cost?

  • what's my anus doing in your video O_o"

    LOL nice vid xD

  • Awesome.

  • your anus? what ta hell? ITS "URAN"

  • wher did you get it

  • Is it accurate? If so, do the planets ever line up in the future?

  • Very nice and well done m8.

  • where can we buy that at the philippines???we need the answer immediately...

  • at 1:05 u pronoounced uranus "ur-anus". it is acually pronounced "ur-an-us" most people use the first pronounciation but i like the second one as the first one is kinda annoying

  • What's the name of the song in 1:47? please?

  • @eejay30 Exploration Of Space by Cosmic Gate

WOW I cannot believe how young I sound in this video.

I haven't really been on this channel since I uploaded this vid, I come back and 52k views :D

  • @JSprayaEntertainment

Pretty sure thats how it goes.

  • i wish they would have tried to make it to scale a little better .. the sun is a million times bigger than earth , and jupiter is 1300 times bigger than earth . and the Distances are all off ... the orbits are not really circle ... so it makes me wonder if the even got the Rotation and orbits of the planets right ...like one year on pluto is 247 earth years ... so does earth go around 247 to pluto's 1 ?

  • @JSprayaEntertainment The 1st number is the actual orbital periods from the books and the 2nd number is from my calculations of the gears on the model. Mercury-88 days-88, Venus-225 days-224, Mars-1.88 yrs-1.88, Ceres-4.599 yrs-4.595, Jupiter-11.86 yrs-12, Saturn-29.66 yrs-29.26, Uranus-84.32 yrs-84.59, Neptune-164.79 yrs-165.71, Pluto-248.09 yrs-244.42, Eris-557 yrs-555. The rotation of the Sun at it's equator is 25 Earth days but it is locked to Mercury on the model which is 88 days.

  • @JSprayaEntertainment As for the orbit of the Moon, a Lunar month is 29.5 days in relation to the Sun (not to be confused with the 27.3 days as viewed on Earth, see book 11 pgs 4 & 5). In 1 Earth year the moon orbits the Earth 365.25/29.5=12.38 times. On the model the Sun gear is 136 teeth and the Earth/Moon gear is 11 teeth. 136/11=12.3636...

  • @TinkeringJohn right , so you don't know , but thanks for the good numbers

  • @JSprayaEntertainment You asked if Earth goes around 247 times to Pluto's 1 on the model. Look at the numbers. For example Pluto's orbit is 248.09 years (not 247) so Earth goes around the Sun 248.09 times for each orbit of Pluto. On the model Pluto goes around the Sun in 244.42 Earth years (the second number I put for Pluto) so the answer to your question is NO, Earth doesn't go around 247 times to Pluto's 1, it goes 244.42 times. Your welcome.

  • @TinkeringJohn u are so totally wrong. The average month "as viewed from earth" is about 29.5 days.(you should have noticed that by now just looking at a calendar) . Sidereal mo is about 27.3 days. Where you been all this time.

  • @tampicokeed When I said as viewed from Earth, I am referring to the time it takes for the moon to line up in the same part of the sky in relation to the background stars (sidereal month) NOT the time between full moons (synodic month) as on the calendar. YOU interpreted my message Totally Wrong.

  • @TinkeringJohn Geek+Mischiveous+Denial+Epic Debater=A man.Unique though.

  • @TinkeringJohn Plus good grammar.I noticed that you even put spaces after dots...I don't do that.

  • I got my first 7 parts of this kit, waiting on the tool set so i can put it together

  • how much does it cost? plz reply!

  • I really WANTED THIS!!! LOL =3

  • It's lovely

  • and if youre wondering about my expertise i work in leeds university i teach astronomy and i have also visited the hawaii site and collected information from partners there i also have access to all data recorded by the infra-red telescope and the radio telescope as i help analyse the info so be carefull as to what you put. as a personal note i sometimes like to get drunk and post things like this to anoy people like you. thank you sir patrick moore and this is not astronomy it is marketing!!!!!

  • do you own a telescope?

  • open the dvd you prick youre missing out and pluto is no longer a planet you fag and the music just shows that you are not of our interlectual level. just a chav with money at least geokar knows what he is talking about were you educated in a third world country or do you just play dumb

  • as far as i know there are 8 planets

    excluding pluto

  • was the stupid music necessary

  • excellent for home construction- awsome actually :) Best regards!

  • This is annoying to get to work right. The outer arms don't stay upright and are loose, where do I get new grub screws?

  • Planets are not really on one common plane are they?

  • @geokar actually yes, its because the sun and the disc of material were originally on the same plane. and now the planets are. the exception is pluto and eris which are trans neptunian objects and in the kuiper belt. these objects all have funny orbits and are separate from the planets.

    hope this helps :)

  • @Griffin9857 You mean the sun and 'disc of material' were only 2D? Why so please tell me? I am perplexed by this.

  • @geokar liken it to that of an old record. with the sun in the middle, and the planets in varying distances from each other. the collection of rock and dust formed much the same way. it could be compared to that of saturns rings, which fall on the same plane as its equator.

  • @Griffin9857 Yes i suppose it seems to apply to Saturn so why not? Thanks.

  • You did an awesome job. I'm sure it was alot of work.Take care of it.

  • wheres the asteroid belt? for $429 I would want a full on solar system.

  • too bad it didnt show actual distance, but if it did, then pluto would be like 1 mile away, XD

  • @dereileak

    pluto's no longer officially a planet. =(

  • great job buddy, If I had the money I'd love to build/have one.

  • so does this thing represent the actual position real-time of the solar system. or does it just spin around willy nilly....??

  • @Krellisch Spins around in acuracy with the other planets.....not actual real time......but it could be in this set up or was at one time.

  • 5 payments of $79 and one payment of $24 !! ouch

  • Awesome but how much was it

  • @wrestler5300

    something around 350 bucks

  • does it show the rotation and revolutions of the planets

  • cosmic gate........poop

  • I like to buy it ,but I guess I can't,cause I can't even get fracken,listed on comments!!!

  • Y can't I get results on half of the questions I ask ,or even get it posted???

  • Is it worth it? Anybody???

  • @jhmoonman If you are interested in this kind of thing I bet it would be really cool......$400 is a little steep though but I bet it is built strong.

  • @nuklear41 It's a much a decoration or a piece of art as it is a model. You can buy any old one from a science store made from cheap plastic and stamped steal if you want.

  • did you have any problems eg planet arm droops, replacments or fauly parts?

  • Hey there. Sorry to bother but was wondering if you could help me on this. Am collecting the series and building the model right now - the problem lies with the rotation of the Earth around the sun. While the earth rotates around the sun smoothly along 2/3s of the engraved plate, it chokes up at the remaining third. Did you have to file down any teeth of the gear to make it run smoothly?

  • where's columbia DVD special ?

  • o wow

  • you missed the columbia dvd special issue

  • The orbital movement are wrong.

But the device is so interesting.

  • cool

  • what song is this

  • cosmic gate - exploration of space

  • lol sombody used a shrink ray to make the planets small XD 5/5 for good music and because i love space

  • i got a project im gonna make a solar system on an illustration board by cutting a styrofoam ball in half then pasting them on the illustrtion board pls help

  • very nice

  • i love the song

  • cool music

  • dude ollie ur the only dude i know who wud do this LOL
