My friend Takeshi worked at the Gibson plant in or near Nashville and can't say enough about how shoddy the workmanship is. I don't know if that's his own tribalism about brands, or an honest assessment of their methods.

@MrGor09 The American Standar will run you 1000usd, comes with a hard case, cable, leather strap etc. The deluxe will run you anywhere between $1600-$2200. And the custom shop guitars can get as expensive as you want them to. If you don't have that kind of cash, you can pick up the American special 700-800 or the Standard Strat(Mexico) for around 500-700. And if you want even cheaper you can pick up a squire strat(China) for about 200. The quality gets worse the cheaper you buy.

I have played guitar since I was 15. To say that the Fender strat is the most sought after guitar in america is not accurate. There are some Gibsons out there that I would love to get my hands on. I know I'm gonna get a ot of hate mail for this one but my favorite guitar that I own and play regularly, and yes I own several guitars in many makes and models, is a B C Rich Avenger!!! The great variation of sounds that this old dog makes just can't be beat.

@miri2po2 i have the fender bullet 150 dsp combo amp that came with the guitar. It's not that bad but it sucks sometimes. I'm about to buy a spider IV 15 watt or a Spider IV 30 watt amp from SamAsh. That is definitely the best amp for the price .

@MIJGProductions I got a little 15r, it didn't come as a combo, but i bought it separately as a practice amp. It's no stage amp like my friend's marshall half stack (it is only 15 watts after all). But for the type of music that i play, and for what the amp is, it's GREAT. I play allot of metal/hard rock, and it's got a ton of distortion for such a little thing. And the clean channel isn't bad either. Cost me 100 bucks!
