this movie was bad ass. great music, great cinematography, and great acting. the battle scenes could have been a little better, but that's just a small complaint. i like this movie better than gladiator, but a little less than braveheart.
There were holes historically, yes - but that's par for the course! Most films about historical rulers either make them saints or monsters - Few depict them as human. Here at least, the director took the time to study up on the subject - Whatever holes in the plot no doubt came by way of finances.

A very good movie about out national icon. Some historical inaccuracies are there, but it's not a documentary. Regarding the Turkish origin claim, I don't agree with that. There were Turkish tribes in Mongolia by that time such as Naiman but Genghis khan was a royalty from Khiyad Borjigin clan which is the core clan of mongols. A very good movie about out national icon. Some historical inaccuracies are there, but it's not a documentary. Regarding the Turkish origin claim, I don't agree with that. There were Turkish tribes in Mongolia by that time such as Naiman but Genghis khan was a royalty from Khiyad Borjigin clan which is the core clan of mongols. So Turks please correct your history books. We were neighbours with Turkish tribes long time ago, but we are not Turks. Language difference is a strong proof of that.

Chinese are typically southern asians, which are very far away from the mongols in terms of origin. Chinese typically haver a much yellower face, while mongols although asian looking have darker brown skin. They are considered barbarians in Asia, but boy were they good at warfare!

If Kublai khan didn't die, and they didn't retreat back to mongol, they would've pushed further after the conquest of Hungary. I would imagine thempushing all the way up to Germany, and possibly near modern France.. I don't know about Great Britian though, since it's an island and difficult to invade. And they lost to the Egyptian army because Egypt fought with camels which are better adapted to desert

The Americas and Australia didn't just phase into existence the second some old worlder "discovered" them, so, no, he didn't conquer the world. His descendants couldn't extend into western europe nor SE Asia, southern India nor the Pacific.

@NopeJPeg Nah. Mongol's conquered almost all of the known land of that time. Search the map of that time, why dont u. Besides, throughout Europe, conquests were happening as often and as widespread as daisies pop out of the ground. Hungary, Poland, Russia, and Transylvania were all conquered. Only Novgorod in Russia became a tribute state.

Over exaggeration as most of northern Russia was not included as their territory and that's a long stretch of the Arctic Circle. Southern India and SE Asia not to mention Java.

Right, because building fortifications is a cowardly act (and not legitimate logistics) while riding around on horses flinging bows from far away instead of facing an opponent dead on (against heavy Western European cavalry, they'd get mowed down) is not. In short, they didn't take Hungary. Heck, they couldn't take lots of areas by force being repelled back. Therefore, not undefeated.
