to be honest i've never even used another stomp box compressor...

when i first got it, i couldn't tell the difference much.

i find the less gain you use, the more you can hear it, palm mutes sound fat without sounding fuzzy or flabby when you backoff a little

Does that gv2 give you enough distortion? Example for stuff like Guns N' Roses.

Yea i think so, but i remember when i first got it I didn't think there was much. If you've got low output pickups i'd suggest you try it out really.

Were you running the distortion from the GV-2 or was it from the dirty channel of the AVT?

hey man i have an ibanez gsa 06 ltd and was wanting to upgrade the pick ups i am tied between sh-6's, seymour duncan blackouts and nailbomb bare knuckle pick ups i mainly play metalcore like killswitch engage, as i lay dying etc all of them are in my price range but i am sooo tied

I swapped out the stock pickups for Seymour Duncans, the standard didn't really sound any better than my £150 squier...

Hi pal. I got a squier showmaster.. bout £150 like you said. Its set up really nice, but was a bit lame. just put Seymour Duncan SH 6 in the bridge.. Hell of a difference!

I had the same 'problem' with my Fender MIM HSS Strat.

Put in a Seymour Duncan JB & hot rails and now it screams as good as any 2000+ guitar.

i think that pickup will be the right for me

(i have a randall RG50TC which sounds terrible for metal & rock )

if your marshall is not that good for you you can sell it and grab a tube randall combo like mine you will never get back (the randall sounds like a classic marshall JCM800 but with more gain )

Thanks :) It's a Marshall VS2000 AVT150 1x12 combo, it's alright but it's probably the weakest link in my setup imo. Consider the JB, the SH6 has more output than I need, I don't even play with my gain half way.
