vinyl and cassettes are wicked because you actualy have to listen to the whole album because its such a pain skimming through all the songs. and your hearing what the band actualy wanted you to hear when they first released it. Not a digital remasterd version... and yea if he hates CDs so much why does he make it so hard to buy sonic youth vinyl records.
Thurston was born with a silver spoon, heir of the Moore legacy, he's actually More the 3rd , just a rich man who went into art ,cuz he has no worries he was set
Moore is such a nerd. Yeah, tried selling cassettes on the street for <1 cent a piece and people didn't go for that. The internet is as about as fleeting as the automobile. But really the whole point is enjoying playing music no matter who likes it and who doesn't.
"make cassettes and records and sell them at merch tables"
honestly, he's right, it's good advice; but when he doesn't lead the pack in using his own advice, it makes me wonder what his real M.O. is. Who is paying for that lovely mansion in western massachusetts, thurston? oh right, the common fan that has to shell out a ton for all your CDs, tee shirts, DVDs, and concert tix.
I think he's just saying he likes analog musical formats. I definitely agree that MP3's generally stink sound-wise. The problem with vinyl is it takes up so much room.

Vinyl sounds better to me, but I listen to a lot more music since the advent of CDs because CDs are more portable.

I don't think they've ever broken even with their records. Most of that money comes from ticket sales and licensing -- NON-DIGITAL!

But they still haven't come up with a format with better fidelity than a vinyl record. They've made music more convenient - not better sounding.
