People are forgeting who helped the lakers win in the 2000 finals against the pacers; it was Kobe. When Kobe got hurt and missed a game; Shaq had a chance to close out the series in 5, but he couldn't do it and they lost. It was Kobe who came back in game 6 with a great performance to help them win. It was Kobe picking up the slack in the 4th quarter hitting clutch shots and freethrows to give the Lakers the win. Meanwhile shaq was gassing out and missing freethrows late in the games.

People are forgeting who helped the lakers win in the 2000 finals against the pacers; it was Kobe. When Kobe got hurt and missed a game; Shaq had a chance to close out the series in 5, but he couldn't do it and they lost. It was Kobe who came back in game 6 with a great performance to help them win. It was Kobe picking up the slack in the 4th quarter hitting clutch shots and freethrows to give the Lakers the win. Meanwhile shaq was gassing out and missing freethrows late in the games.

Every critic just has to look back at the video, especiall the '00-'01 season. But Shaq averaged 30 pnts and 15 boards pretty much in all three finals man come out now.

@MSotelo503 Did you use to watch Kobe game after game back then? Sure his game wasn't as polished as it is now, but he could do most of the things offensively that he can do know. His athletic ability was off the charts then; adding his faster speed, higher hops, and swagger that made him hard to stop then. Also around 2002-2003 he became a beast defensively, and got better at 3pt shoots.

Unbiasedly speaking, Kobe started becoming a complete package in 2002-2003. That year he avg 30 pts per game, only second to T-mac's 31 that year; and he shot 38% for 3. He was in the top 3 or 4 in MVP votes, and had some remarkable games that season. 9 straight 40 pt games (only MJ and I think Wilt has done that), 17 straight games of scoring 30 pts or more, etc

The difference and my point Kobe now is better than when he was with Shaq. Look at the tapes he was never a lock down defender till late. Scoring isn't everything and he will even say that. @MSotelo503 What are you talking about? He was not a turnover king, and his defense vastly improve during the 2002-2003 season, that year he averaged over 2 steals a game and almost 7 rebounds. As a matter of fact Kobe is 8 time First team Defense 2000, 2003–2004, 2006–2010, and got All-Defensive Second Team (2001–2002). Notice he won some of these awards before 04-05. Not being bias, Just stating the facts. And fuck the refs We the Champs!!!!!!

@MSotelo503 They were good, but I prefer Kobe and Shaq. Shaq was in his prime, and virtually unstoppable and Kobe was just nasty dunking and destroying everybody. Kobe when he had the Fro was young, fearless, and just plain sick. Now you can say he is the complete package- more team oriented, very high Basketball IQ, and a unstoppable fade away jump shot.
