You know, I adore the character of Frasier, and his snobbery and vanity and arrogance and bossy jackassery only makes me love him more, but these bouts of creepy desperation when gets really insecure about his love life just...make me really uncomfortable. One of the (very) few flaws of this show, IMO. It's why I didn't care much for season 11, even though it's far better-written than seasons 9 & 10. It's also one of the reasons why I really wish Frasier'd had a season-long girlfriend or two.

Being the victim of interventions, I know how awkward and embarrassing it is for your friends to come and point their finger at you, saying you've done something wrong. In some cases I do believe interventions are justified (drugs, etc.), but only if everyone remains loving, helpful, and sincere. Ganging up on someone-especially when that person is the only one able to defend themselves-is not right. Frasier wasn't in any need of an intervention, and it is sad that everyone thought he was lying.
Would anyone else want to stay seated with the married woman and try to put the moves on her with her husband next to you. That situation just excites me.

This episode has made me think of interventions. Being the victim of at least two interventions, I know how uncomfortable and embarrassing it is to be in Frasier's position. To have your friends get you "alone" somewhere and discuss how wrong you are, and try to force you to see things their way... it's not comforting at all. They make light of it here, and if you're a neutral party watching an intervention like this it is funny; but in real life interventions can be very cruel.
Um, excuse me, but why the hell would anyone vastly younger and more attractive than Frasier date him, if she didn't need money? This is the most sexist show. All Frazier's girlfriends are too good for him. The women his father dates are Frazier's age and attractivenss level. Why did the show's producers put such desirable women with fat, balding, effeminate, almost-elderly Frazier?
@megaswenson Actually mega, his real life wife is a gorgeous woman who is at least 15 years younger than he is. So, it's pretty true to life :). Frazier is certainly not 'almost elderly'. He's a local celebrity, cultured, put together... to me it makes perfect sense. You must not be a single woman... the pickin's are slim out there!

This episode has made me think of interventions. Being the victim of at least two interventions, I know how uncomfortable and embarrassing it is to be in Frasier's position. To have your friends get you "alone" somewhere and discuss how wrong you are, and try to force you to see things their way... it's not comforting at all. They make light of it here, and if you're a neutral party watching an intervention like this it is funny; but in real life interventions can be very cruel.

Um, excuse me, but why the hell would anyone vastly younger and more attractive than Frasier date him, if she didn't need money? This is the most sexist show. All Frazier's girlfriends are too good for him. The women his father dates are Frazier's age and attractivenss level. Why did the show's producers put such desirable women with fat, balding, effeminate, almost-elderly Frazier?

@megaswenson Actually mega, his real life wife is a gorgeous woman who is at least 15 years younger than he is. So, it's pretty true to life :). Frazier is certainly not 'almost elderly'. He's a local celebrity, cultured, put together... to me it makes perfect sense. You must not be a single woman... the pickin's are slim out there!

@Israelgal But that's the actor playing Frazier, not the character Frazier. The Actor, presumably, is rolling in money after long runs on two hit shows. And he's world-famous...not a 'radio personality' in a local, secondary market. One would presume the current wife of the actor was motivated, at some level, by his wealth and fame.
If the gorgeous young blondes Frazier generally dates needed money, it would be plausible. But most of them seem equal or superior to him, in their careers.
