I was so thrilled when this ad came out, to show my kids how totally cool Petula Clark and my whole 60s teenage years were! Clark was so upbeat and Target ads really had a great run of creativity.
The smile is kind of creepy. My local Target store had a poster of a better looking male model marveling at a Target shaped blob in a lava lamp. It was pretty funny. They took down the poster a couple of years ago, and I wanted to take it home with me. The poster was that cool.

Target is just as bad as Wal-Mart. They put mom and pops out of buisness just like anyone else. In this time of economic uncertainty, I'd love to see Target hit the balls.
I work at Target and have for many many many years, so, of course, I get physcially ill anytime I see a Target Commercial on TV. I mean its liked they raided on of those old Mentos commercials to find people that could act brainwashed X-D
That's funny! My sister worked for Target a few years back and what she couldn't stand about them was whenever a customer asked to speak to a manager no matter who it was whether it was a cashier or a custodian they always said, "I'm the manager". The store she worked at was pretty bad. Not every employee can be the manager!
I'm looking for this commercial they have from Target in Spanish, it's like a magical thing, the song(in spanish) talks about magic, I think it's for fall 2007. If anybody knows anything about it please tell me..
Great ad, very clear P.C. tune. Wish somebody with a CD of "SotT" would dub it to some video and upload it here. The "Top of the Pops" video version if the song is longer, but has the applause noise, and a different arrangement from the LP record session.
The producers are mentioned in the book about Target.
I first remember hearing this song in '76, fell in love with it, then never heard it again 'till I saw this ad. I about fell off the couch, and it lead me to become a serious Petula Clark fan.
I know this is random, but has anyone else seen the website on sale for a billion dollars? LMFAO! XD
go to google and type in: billiondollarpage4sale

The ad for the casting of this ad read "Look for insane ex-Mentos actors who can smile a lot"

I like this way better than the "Hello Goodbuy" song that they use now. This one has a really trippy, surrealistic 60's vibe.
