I remember watching this with my Dad on VHS when I was a kid, and we'd always laugh our asses off when he started doing that little psychotic babbling at the beginning of this scene.
For anyone who thinks Jack's Joker wasn't evil enough and was only campy. Watch this scene!!! It shows how evil & demented Jack's Joker really was. He is the kind of guy who makes you laugh while he is killing someone. Like Freddy Kruger.
He's gibbering in the beginning, and then at 0:05 he catches sight of the charred gangster like he actually fucking forgot about him smoking like a stomped out campfire in the chair. That look, Yessss, that's right, I still have to go over and riff all over your corpse! Hot damn!
I'm more in the "Ledger>>>Nicholson" camp but I gotta say... this scene was fucking amazing. A lot of Jack's laughs felt forced to me but once he walked away from that corpse I don't think the rest of his laughing was even acting.
@Mercenary78 Yeah i remember when British television edited movies very heavily for violence, gore and bad language. I watched Robocop in about 1993 and it was edited and cencored so much that it was actually funny to watch, the movie must have been about half an hour shorter after they had finished editing it LOL
@Carbon657 I made that same comment on another vid about Robocop! It was ridiculous, we mustve been watching that film at the same time. It was pathetic some of the stuff the laid over the characters words! lol

Back in the '80's they cut this scene out of the movie maybe because it was disturbing.
