My team makes us go 7-8 yards back because we run more zone but you can get a little closer. We don't mind those short completions but we wont allow the long passes. This depends on your style and team. Off-man is useful because it means being burnt less but it's more useful if you do go back this far.

All of what he said is easier said than done. I play cornerback and the way he explains it is not as easy as it sounds. The WR knows what route he's gonna run, you don't. Therefore he always has the advantage in that aspect. So you CAN get in front and jump the route, but sometimes it's gonna be on an instinctive guess rather than your physical ability to catch up to a fast receiver and bat it away.

@dragonwarzin off coverage man to man means you are assigned to a single receiver and cover him from the start of the play till it's finished or otherwise. off coverage means you are not going to be bumping the receiver coz you will be like 5 or more yards from him. bump coverage means you are face to face with him whereby you get an opportunity to play with him withing 5 yards. i prefer pump coverage if you are blitzing. never a good idea to play off coverage while blitzing. i hope i answered

@DJA216 dude you have no idea how good nnamdi covers wide reccievers. nnamdi covers guys better than revis and while revis wanted more money, nnamdi was helping out the team. revis gets thrown at more than nnamdi, giving him a better chance at an interceptin, and hasent been beat for a touchdown since 2007. people say he got beat against arizona but the defence was a zone. so when fitz turned off, it was now the linebackers turn to cover fitz in which they failed
