  • Wow that's pretty cool that you made that. Good job :)

  • ah...progress, wonderful project. If you did eventually use it as a mower, why

not just use another motor for the deck...constant speed (adjustable, no doubt)

but self-contained. Keep up the great work!

  • @daniellma Hi Mark, The original '88 Murray mower deck was in bad shape. The future mower project will not require a speed control for the permanent magnet motor. 48V will give a fixed 3600 rpm, perfect for the mower and the variable ratio transmission. The GE Elek-Trak was equipped as you suggest using shunt-wound motors for the mower deck.

  • is it for romping or mowing??

  • @ils360 This project is just a yard tractor without a mower. The early 60s series wound motor was not suitable for running a mower. I have another riding mower and an Etek permanent magnet motor that I plan to build up as an electric mower.

  • @enganear you should make it fast but then you can go to 1 gear and use it for work i think that would be cool just an idea

  • this is a cool idea!!!!

  • Yeah, I haven't seen this thing in a while, Good Luck.
