@cheyennetheguitarist That depends on the ability level of the students, of course, but I don't see any reason why a pair of 8th grade students couldn't perform this well without a good amount of practice and a little bit of coaching from their teacher. It's a very manageable piece that was written with beginners in mind.
@uberawesomeme12 Right now, no, but I do plan to release a full volume of 2-mallet literature with duets, trios, and hopefully even quartets some time in the near future!
yeah, i need to start saving money. Im still using the cheapo finale sounds which I hate. I think that VD is my next investment. Do you have a midi keyboard hooked up to it? Any bugs that you've encountered?
If you do get VDL 2.5, I HIGHLY suggest that you also get Sibelius. Even though VDL works with Finale, it was pretty much designed for Sibelius. Not to mention that Sibelius is infinitely easier to use.
I use a Casio WK-1630 keyboard, but honestly a cheap 1-1.5 octave USB-MIDI controller works just as well. It takes a little time to install and understand exactly how it works in relation to the notation software, but once you get going you learn very fast. No bugs that I've encountered :)
Thanks! Unfortunately, because real recordings of anything that isn't a solo can be difficult to get, this is indeed using Virtual Drumline 2.5 sounds. I don't know what I'd do without those guys at Tapspace :)
would this be easy enough for 8th graders for a school talent show?

Just wondering, what grade would this be

@23paingel This is a fairly easy marimba duet. Maybe a grade 2 on the 1-6 scale?

Do you have any more 2 mallet marimba duets?

I love this duet. It reminds me of the background music in a movie, while they walk down the halls of Harvard or Yale.

cool piece. did you use virtual drumline for the sounds, or is this an actual recording? It sounds very cool?
