When the stations goes from analog to digital you all may end up with more television channels if like here in the United States. We went from 6 analog channels to 16 channels on digital which was good for us. The problem was the box which is needed to get a digital station on the old TV's. With the new TV's you don't need it and if you have your own tools to connect the cable you are much better off. I miss the CBC station which we could get on subscription TV, but no more.

Getting your facts straight. CIVI has had 6pm weekend news for at least a year or more. Who is New Democrat cabinet minister Moy? It's Moe Sihota. Hudson Mack was never part of the CITY TV style standing up news era. CIVI has always had the power of the CTV network behind them since they bought the station. I see more local content on CIVI. CHEK uses too much from CBC. Did either of you bother to watch or listen to what you recorded before uploading?
@newsobjective I'll admit I was mistaken on the weekend news for CIVI, I had always watched the weekday news and never realized that they adjusted their schedule to include weekend news. I also said "it has become CLEAR that they have a national news organization behind them" not that they did. Many people may not have realized that CTV and A-channel were affiliated but now, for most people it is clear. it's also your opinion that CHEK uses too much CBC content, not a fact
@christopherve7alb I work in television the A-Channel is not called a system it more called a Network now under the CTV TWO Name due to how many viewers it reaches across the country
Thanks for the information. I didn't even know what happened, and couldn't readily find anything on the changeover via google, so imagine my surprised pleasure at finding this detailed explanation. :) For what it's worth, I usually watch CHEK news during the day, then switched to A at 17:00 and CBC at 17:30. I find myself thinking that CTV2 news is not going to be different from CTV and therefore I'm now switching to CBC at 17:00. I guess I'm saying I think they've made an error in changing it.
