I did not like this camera very much. My panasonic PV-DV951D from 2001 will out perform my DCR-SR47 from 2009. The sounds quality is not great at all, it cant capture the low sounds and the sound is like distorted whenever i get videos of trucks starting up.

@white2090 Mein ne is ki standard battery to kabhi try hi nahi ki, ye battery jo mein ne extra li hai, is se ap upto 9 hrs recording time hasil ker saktey hein.

aur ye mein ne try ki hai.

Hey nice video, Im think of buying this camera to video live music, so can you please tell me how good the sound is? If i video a very very loud performance will the sound come through or would it just be a loud ruff unbearable sound? I would actually like to attach an external microphone but the support for this is slowly fading out on consumer style cameras.

This camcorder records very good voice and i believe it would handle concerts very well.

But there is no jack for external mic!!!

And the focusing is a bit on the slow side. which might frustrate you in tricky lighting situations (like disco lights).

But all in all, this the best bang for buck :)

First of all I am from Pakistan,

Secondly i had the chance to test the battery and my camera worked for about 5 hours straight and still indicate that it can give me 400 minutes of battery time.

So this battery pack is living upto its expectations.

Yeah i believe it can give about 9-10 hours of battery life.

Yea.. i wanted to buy this camcoder. Some review tells video quality is not so good.. is that is true? i am also buying the cam for the first time. Will you suggest me to buy this. and most of new camcoder has a remote. remote is not there with this unboxing?? i have one more choice, ie jvc everio gz-mg630. ny idea about this? which one do you prefer me... thanks in advance :)

no remote. this is the bottom of the range HDD camcorder, so it lacks a lot of features, like the all important auto shutter.

sadly sony is the only proper brand in my area who gives warrenty. JVC never came to my country. SO i can't give any proper opinion.

However check this, the sensor size.

Sony has a tiny 1/8" sensor, which i believe it smallest in the market.

Sensor is like Film in old cameras, the bigger the better.

keep that in mind and i hope you 'll get the best :)

It's the bottom of the range camera. So Don't expect any miracles from picture quality.

If you burn the footage on DVD, the quality is quite good.

On PC however codecs slow down the system and makes it pain in the head for editing.
