Hey I remember when this happened. I immediately thought ice, when I heard I pilot induced stall I was surprised and shocked. What shocked me the most was that a flight crew could screw up this bad, normal I do not like being critical of flight crews, but this was ridiculous!!!!! Thank God for people like Clint Crookshanks and Lorenda Ward. How they are able to do their job and not have a psychotic episode of beyond me.
@Wykletypl That's right. Delta Connection 5191 tried to take off on a runway that was half the length of the desired one, overrun and crashed 300m away. See wikipedia: Comair_Flight_191
Fatigue might be a problem generally but that is not what brought down this aircraft:
"(Erie County Executive Chris)Collins said that .... crew members had reported mechanical problems as they approached Buffalo Niagara International Airport."
Watch the movie? I've read almost the entire NTSB report. Too many witnesses on the ground said the plane was in mechanical difficulties. Like this one:
"Michele Beiter
Michele stated the noise, 'skipped' and and she was releived it stopped, and then it started again. Michel is positive there was a skip. Michele further described everthing she heard as, 'Noise, skip, noise, loud noise.' "
@starviego Regardless, fatigue is still a problem in this industry. When you are fatigued, you cannot perform this job or many jobs at your fullest. I think if I am going to have someone fly me from newark to buffalo late at night, I want them to be well rested.
This is a work of fiction. There is no evidence fatigue had anything to do with it. Mechancical failure is a more likely suspect, based on the available evidence.
@starviego Watch the whole damn thing before saying anything. Mechanical failure was written out, PIlot error and Fatigue is the more likely and obvious suspect.
i would accept a regional pilot job for19000 even 15000 or less who knows ... (i dont know the prices in USA )... just for work as pilot ....

The wage of a pilot is less than an average bus driver! less! rediculous

I need to do like the NTSB does during meetings. Use a full A4 sheet of paper, write something in big letters and put a box around it.
Makes things look important :)

its kind of sad how these things have to happen for changes to be made RIP

I am not comforted by the thought that airline pilots might be paid less than bus drivers.

The dramatization took 3 times as long as the actual incident.

Never underestimate how easily a man is distracted by a woman nearby.
Which is why there should never be both sexes in the cockpit. Ever.

The pilots was trained that if u pull the plane up too much it will stall. So why did they did it because they were TOO scared .

16000$ a year for a pilot? Damn.
misium 6 months ago
@misium Regular airline pilots, not commuter airline pilots, make the most money. Up to 250,000 a year.

Why does the woman sound like she's having an orgasm?

@MrBlankBarcode
Both are having orgasm from 44:15 to 44:17

41:16 the plane took off from the wrong runway? How exactly caused this an accident? The runway was too short for the plane that crashed?

@Wykletypl Foggy conditions, pilots unaware with the airport, distracted pilots.. etc It wasn't a pretty mess, I remember that day very well.

Interesting crash... In a stall u wanna decrease flaps and push down to create speed then pull up again.
salou671 8 months ago
@salou671 You want to add power first and relax the elevator and break the stall before you add flaps. You need to be in a safe airspeed.
rev4life03 8 months ago
@salou671 retract that is ;)
rev4life03 8 months ago
@salou671 Decrease flaps? This will increase speed but lower lift, deepening the stall.

kids shouldn't fly passenger planes
pete5668 10 months ago 12
@pete5668 It can be done. Just prepare for the ticker price to go up. Those regional "kids" are flying for food. Aprox. $19000 per year.
