  • But everybody knows he's only putting on the style!

  • My God Lennon i love you.

  • Do the research and find the Beatles or Silver Beatles recordings with Pete Best and realize that he is not a very good drummer. Ringo sealed it.

  • El dia mas importante de la historia del rock. Most important day in rock history =)

  • Este dia mudou a história da música.

  • Ok stu never wad "kicked" out he quite himself to stay with astrid in Germany

  • Why does everyone mention Pete, but never Stuart?

After a Beatles concert (I believe they were already called The Beatles by this time..not sure though) the Beatles were involved in a fight and Stuart got kicked in the head.....got kicked out of the band later and then died because of, you guessed it, that one fight. D:

  • @nehnehmjfan22 people talk about Pete cause he was a good drummer and he still got kicked out because he didn't have the right chemistry with his band mates. Stu is a tragic figure, he quits the band, focuses on his life with Astrid and his art, and then dies from a brain hemorrhage that he very possible received from that fight outside Lathom Hall where he was kicked in the head and thrown head first into a brick wall.

  • FOTOGRAFIAS DE ORO.

  • wow John Lennon looks really young in one of the Pictures

  • @ambersalcove He was 17 !! xP

  • @mrblue99 Okay , 16 3/4 , it was in July , he was born in october , for 3 monthes T_T.

  • 歌詞が上手く聞き取れないのが残念!

  • I'm Still wondering why nobody talks about Rick Sutcliffe, he was a very important member of this band, unfortunately he died very young, before The Beatles appear.

I think you guys know the story very well....you guys should know how he died and the reasons why ..... He was (based on comments) the most good-looking guy of the band, that's a clue! =)

    GeNiuZ

  • @ThEGeNiuZ23 : Stuart Sutcliffe

  • @ThEGeNiuZ23

he was Stu Sutcliffe get his name right if you wanna make the point. sheesh.

  • @ThEGeNiuZ23 he wasn't important a at all. He coldn't even play. You can say he was important 'cause they might have had another bass player who could play then the course of events would have been different but you could say that about thousands of things in the early days.

  • @Stube437 he was important because he directly influenced john and the way he perceived art

  • Who recorded this, Thomas Edison?

  • @harpo103 Yes.It sounds great on a 1915 Victrola.LOL

  • @harpo103 This was recorded in 1950s

  • Excellente, rare. Grazie

  • yes.

  • Gran documento. De colección.

  • cool thank god for the police man who recorded this even in 1957 wish the technolgy was better back then. thank god for the bootleger.

  • The pictures seem to be taken on different says in different locations. Would that be correct?

  • Never heard this before, thanks for uploading!

  • Amazing!!!

  • skiffle

  • Way before Pete Best.

  • REALLY???? I heard that Pete Best really sucks playing Drums

  • @Superstarseven

yeah, sounds like the Plastic Ono Band

  • Es Colin Hanton el baterista no Pete Best...

    Y era bastante bueno.

  • He wasn't playing with them then..

  • wat song is it?????? what is he singing..

thank 4 the historical record tanku very much

  • hey, check this out for the original version watch?v=nzqiLf503qQ

  • Thanks for sharing this! This indeed is a historical record. Imagine a world without Lennon & McCartney...impossible!

  • I got chills listening to this...

  • Hard to believe this recording even exists.

    who recorded it?

  • Some retired officer experimenting with his new recorder. Turns out he needed a little money, and figured out who these guys were, and sold it to bootleggers.

  • Who's doing the lead vocals on this song then? Sounds nowt like John.

  • It's John.

  • John Lennon.

  • it could be if he was trying to sound like Lonnie Donnigan. I'm not convinced either, though

  • @Flyingpig437

yeah, they were basically doing cover songs from american skiffle bands

later he tried to mix skiffle and rock n roll,

John really like Elvis Presley and Lonnie Donnigan

  • @sagittarius2stuff

British skiffle bands...who were heavily influenced by American blues and folk.

  • Amazing.

  • Cool

  • The photos are actually from two different days - one was the Rose Lane parade in June and the other was the St. Peter's fete when he met Paul.

  • All eyes on John as he looks straight into the camera. He knew it already.

  • @liverpoolishgirl knew what

  • @liverpoolishgirl

The complete Quarrymen story on DVD "The Quarrymen - The Band that started The Beatles" is available at amazon.com .

  • pictures were tsaken by a guy called geoof f rhinf; recording could have been made by a guy named arthur wong who was a quarryman follower; also they made some home recordings which have been lost or wiped; maybe in someones attic in l'p[ool

  • The BBC radio programme "When John met Paul" (where this comes from) was great

  • Awesome, footage.

  • Awesome, been looking for this for a long while. Amazing to hear him so young.

  • has anyone found out if it will be released? or a complete tape?

  • I wonder who made this recording?

  • That's my kind of drum-sound.

  • Hey JL1,

Are you suggesting as in...John "Duff" Lowe?? lol....actually,my nickname is Jumbi. When I began doing the Beatle band thing with friends in 99,the name JB evolved somewhere along the lines & stuck.Speaking of names.....what's up with yours...why Julian Lennon??

  • Hey JulianLennon1,

I'm the one who should be thanking you for the very kind words....& I do...hey,hey hey....& I doooo!!I think you get the idea of how my whole experience with these beautiful guys has been an ultimate thrill. And would you believe, they've asked me to join them for a 2 week Tour in October starting with a show at BBKings in New York(where I'm from) on John Lennon's B/day (10-9)

I've never done anything like this in my life.Like a dream flying through the sky.

    Peace amigo,

    JB

  • Just happened to stumble upon your comments you made to me..Outta the blue I found you.

Glad I did too. So excited for you about your future trip to BBKings in Oct!!Damn that is fanfreakentastic! Whatever you do, take it all in..cherishable moment indeed. Go get 'em!

  • JL1....you hit the nail right on the head man..if I were someone in my teens or twenties,I'd be thinking"oh,opportunities like this will always be knocking at my door"I'm 56,& like you said...cherishable time indeed.....& I'm taking in all I can !!

I'm so into nostalgia,I'm sure I'll be done in one day by all the mush I'll become.

I love The Beatles...& owe them so much for all they allowed me to learn,take...& maybe give a little bit back.

Thanks for your twist & shout out to me.

    JB

  • Hey JB, just curious....

True or False: Your nickname is/was 'Duff'

    Dying to hear your response!

ps.9 OCT 08 is coming to a city near you!

  • Just... wow.

I've got shivers listening to this.

  • Okay. Interesting (in a very good way).

  • I diddnt know, that there are recordings from them!

  • This is so beautiful to watch & listen to. It's also a personal honor & privilege knowing I've had the pleasure of performing with The Quarrymen & can say they are a total class act & are my very special friends.

    God Bless you boys,

    JB

  • Who are you? How did you get to play with them?

  • I've been a Beatles fan since 64.Last year while jamming with musicians in the lobby at NY-Metro's B/fest(Crowne Plaza),a friend introduced me to Len & Colin who asked if I wanted play with them (that was a Friday). I was on the big stage with them Saturday & Sunday & it was a fantastic experience.I'm not a professional musician, but I enjoy the Bass a lot & I also dig jamming with good players. If you search JByesterday, you can catch some clips of me with The Quarrymen.

    Thanks for asking.

    JB

  • jbyesterday:

Thats incredible! I'll definately check out your video clips with teh Quarrymen!!

  • Hi anukriti,

    JB

ps...I plan on taping as much as I can when we play & will post on youtube for you, family & friends to view.

    Peace !

  • Hi anukriti,

I thought you might like to see a video clip from our PA show doing this song. Hope you like it...the Tour was great fun.

Beatleslegacy - I hope you don't mind my adding this video response to your post. Rod Davis,Len Garry & Colin Hanton are 3 original members included in hat famous photo with John.

  • I'm so taken you took the time write what you did! Wow, thank you. You're part of that very special music history. Thanks for getting the music where it is today. 5 stars!

  • Lennon was imitating Lonnie Donegans voice.

  • And their "drummer" used a teapot here.. :P

  • I went through the lyrics, and there might be enough material here to make a complete version of this song!

  • I can actually imagine being there, seeing The Quarrymen on stage performing that song and Paul McCartney is in the audience watching them. I can seriously imagine it. I love it to say it's a genuine recording from that actual date back in the 50's. WOW!

  • stranger recorder!

  • Excelente!
