this beta is like the windows 7 RC, basically ready. Its stable but i suggest waiting for the final release sometime these few months

i ran them side by side and yes it did mess up sometimes when i open word 07 and then word 10 because they are constantly fighting over defaults. One wants to open files and then the next one does. IF you have a pirated version of office i see no reason to do a full upgrade if you paid for it maybe you should just wait for the stable ones

do what i did, run them side by side. Theres a option somewhere along the install to keep both versions of office

yes because one wants to be the default and then the other one does so when i boot word up it will run sorta install process (nothing major) but i just cancel it but if you let that run then word 2010 will do the same thing. if you have bought office and are happy with it i advise just not to mess with the beta but if you've pirated it.. eh what the hell
