  • I remember that one Herman gets struck by lightening or something while on the roof of the house and gets turned into that :)

  • Fred Gwynne was a handsome guy til the day he died

  • Youts?

  • I guess you kids are too young to remember he co-starred with "Grampa" (Al Lewis) in "Car 54: Where are you?"

  • I feel like I've gone...Hollywood! LOL

  • Herman Munster unmasked!

  • HE'S SO HOT!!! wow

  • Bring back the DECENT comedy of the 60s!!!

  • @jimbritttn Laugh In

  • he was also the judge in My Cousin Vinny. But he will always be remembered as Herman Munster. Always!

  • He looks like Ed Helms

  • What? Ya'll are Fred Gwynn fans and you havent seen "Car 54"? It stared Fred and Al Lewis as New York cops in the early 60's. I'm sure you can search for episodes on hulu or somewhere.

  • @GrapeApe226 "Car 54. Where are youuuuuuuuu." I barely remember it from it's original airing.

  • Hot.

  • He was sooo handsome

  • Fred Gwyne was great!!! lol

  • i love the way even though he isnt wearing the make up or clothes that herman wears, he is still in character. he still does all herman's childlike characteristics. i love you fred!!! ♥ ♥ ♥

  • "Car 54 where are you ! ?"

  • What episode is this?

  • This is my favoirte Munsters episode. It was the first time I had seen Fred Gwynne looking like FRED GWYNNE.

  • He was a very sexy and good looking guy...I did have my fantasies as a child...can't believe it....LOL!

  • @jdcc061 You aren't the only one dear. That's why My Counsin Vinny is one of my favourite movies.

  • The weird old lady laughter during the show is very distracting. Sounds like one of those little old lady that smoked about a thousand ciggies.

  • I thought Fred Gwynne was smoking hot back in the 50's and 60's. He was such a great actor. It's such a shame he's gone. :(

  • Gwynne is hot. He used to turn me on as a little boy.He had to be gay.I just feel it. So tall. wAs he really that tall.

  • Fred was a handsome man, wasn't he?! Very nice!

  • fred was not bad looking, I CRIED WHEN I FOUND OUT HE DIED A LONG TIME AGO

  • Thanks for this first time I ever seen this! Ahh I love it!

  • *Judge Alex is not the Only famous Celebrity to resemble the Late Great Sexy Fred Gwynne! Check out Wrestler Junior Assuncao! YEOW!

  • *Beverly Owen was the original Marilyn, and she was on MORE than just the pilot! PAT Priest replaced her in December 1964 due to mental illness.

  • @zodiolestes

That is if you call getting married mental illness

  • @ysbaddaden2003 The original Marilyn,Beverly Owen was having "Crying Fits" over her soon to be Hubby cuz she could NOT be with him Every single second of the day... Fellow cast members have vouched for her Strange behaviour on the set... She had to be replaced in December,1964 with Pat Priest... Some people should investigate before shooting down someone elses comments???

  • @zodiolestes sHE WAS HAVIG A MENTAL BREAKDOWN OVER HER LOVER!

  • He looks so much like Judge Alex! I loved Herman he was the BEST!!! I love LILY. I always thought she was so GORGEOUS.

  • @sexxxyshar Lily was hot !

  • I will neve be able to go thrugh the rest of my life like this! He thinks he is ugly! ah ha haha!

  • OMG! He was handsome, after all! I love his voice! LOL!

  • H to the awt.

  • he looks weird even without makeup! Ha Ha

  • It's Muldoon of car 54 where are you . LOL

  • What's the name of this episode? Was it unaired? I don't seem to have it in my DVD collection, and it would be a blast to see!

  • He was also the judge in My Cousin Vinny.

  • Just like Boris Karloff, Fred Gwynne had that really long thin face that is perfect to take on the Frankenstein makeup. Someone today who comes to mind with the same type of face is John Kerry, he would make a great Frankenstein.

  • que buena, jajaja tiene casi el mismo tono de voz en español.

  • You've got a great voice to do voice overs.

  • He was also great in "My Cousin Vinny" !!

  • He looks like Francis Muldoon.

  • You can see more of Fred Gwynne in the show "Car 54 where are you?".

  • He's really handsome without makeup.

  • @ncfwhitetigress Oh, yeahhh! Bit of a hottie alright.

  • @ncfwhitetigress Agreed! :D

  • He looks like Dr Cox from scrubs...XD LOL

  • Judge Alex Looks Just Like Fred Gwen!

  • I love when Herman breaks into that family having Thanksgiving and eats up a storm...it's so funny!

  • @politicsreign yeh same here its apity that he died when he did.

  • The real actor who play Zombo was famous on radio in the 1930's 40's...one of the many washed up radio guys who went to tv...he was great as ZOMBO!

  • That was Louis Nye (1913-2005) who had a recurring role as Sonny Drysdale on "The Beverly Hillbillies" as well as guest starring on other shows. He originated the phrase, "Hi Ho Steverino" when he appeared in the "Man On The Street" sketches on "The Steve Allen Show." back in the 50's.

  • Remember episode when Eddie is all into "ZOMBO"? I loved how Eddie played it to the hilt with Herman....

  • i went to amazon, and found the munsters action figures. i ordered a herman action figure. it arrived today. it's good. i think i'll order the rest of the figures.

  • I started buying up the Geronimo Series of action figures and sent the price sky rocketing but managed to snag 3 for myself... so hope you like yours, tho I have the geronimo dolls that I played withnwhile I was watching Munsters!

  • since i last wrote, i bought a set of all 5 munster action figures from amazon. they're neat, yet they aren't proportionate to each other. the lily figure is about the same size as the herman figure.

  • The secret to making those action figures increase in value is NOT TO OPEN THEM, keep plastic on... I did it with Happy Meal and Burger kid happy meal stuff and I've not opened some and it's ten years later and they are worth more with closed packaging. Have you oepned packages?

  • sure i opened them. i didn't get them as an investment. i got them because some of my young relatives and neighborhood kids might like them, especially around halloween. i guess you and i had very different reasons for getting the action figures.

  • Man, Pat Preist was hot!!

  • She is still alive, and there were actually two Marilyn's, one from pilot, then they got Pat!

  • You should see him in Car 54 where are you. Al Lewis was also in that show. It's a shame shows aren't as good as they were when I was a kid.

  • Car 54 is one of my all-time favorite shows;-)

  • It's not really him because he was not Herman. But Al Lewis is priceless ...

  • He's Herman Munster to me ALWAYS. I saw episodes of Car 54 and thought he was way too young then! Just like watching Jackie Gleason before he was Ralph...wasn't the same, but what can I say, I love him as Herman!

  • Fred Gwynne was amazingly handsome:) I remember thinking that the first time I saw this episode when I was a kid, and seeing him without all of the makeup for the first time. I couldn't believe it!

  • Yvonne DeCarlo in great new bio (Charlton Heston: An Incredible lIfe: Revised Edition)! Bio is at amazon!

  • She was a funloving woman too!

  • this is A CLASSIQUE!!!!!

  • i love that episode, hes so fuckin handsome

  • you are so damn right..he was very very handsome...big guy!

  • I waited for weeks for them to run it, 'cause I knew at anytime they might just pull it for episodes of Murder she Wrote, which would suck! So I waited, and got it!

  • Fred was so HANDSOME. I know he hated wearing all that heavy makeup every week. And wearing those heavy ass boots. RIP Fred!!

  • Fred Gwynne & Al Lewis made a great comedy team.

  • He was such a big guy yet with a veritable pussycat persona. May he rest in peace.

  • Oh my god! Fred Gwynne was so hot!

  • Handsome guy without the makeup, i'm surprised! Bless his soul

  • he was THE absolute BEST :):):):):)

  • nice thank you for the clip

  • wow...he kinda has a big chin?

  • That makes him even more handsome :)

I can`t stand men with those little-girl chins, and I have seen many!

  • Comment removed

  • i love this episode =)

  • Fred Gwynne passed on some years ago.

I think sometime after he appeared in

    "Pet Semtary"

  • Who is the female describing the video. She sounds familiar... Jeanne Moos?

  • Leslie Siegel blogger queen!

  • Grampas spells rarely worked as intended.

He spent a lot of time trapped in some animal form and bitter that his grandaughter didn't marry better.

The entire premise is lame, the dragon "Spot" and supercharged Kitty Cat were ridiculous: But Gwynne, DeCarlo and Lewis pulled it off because they were having so much fun with it.

Herman had childlike joy and optimism. Gwynne and Lewis could make any absurd storyline fun. Kind of like the old Batman show.

  • what is the name of this episode? somebody tell me.......PLESASEEEEE!

  • "Just Another Pretty Face". It originally aired January 13, 1966.

  • At the begining I thought that your voice was like a narrator from a documentary.

  • He was handsome, isn't he?

  • Never saw Car 54, but remembered him in this episode one of my favs, and I was so happy they ran it, and now they don't run the series, they replaced it with Andy Griffith show Oy!

  • LOL THAT BIG OL HEAD

  • He kind of looks like that English guy who played Sherlock Holmes on masterpiece theatre.

  • BUT HE ISN'T. HE'S HERMAN!

  • Huh?

  • well here he is actually just Fred Gwynne >O

  • wow, fred gwynne is a handsome son of a bitch

  • FRED AND AL TWO OF THE BEST

  • Thanks for putting this up! I only knew Gwynne without make-up when he was way older. I had no idea he was actually really attractive.

  • More like a younger version. I hated him in that one movie with Michael J. Fox. Make up made him look meaner and older. He was a nice dude.

  • fred gwynne's the best looking actor and still is!!!!!!!! he even top's all of the actors of today!!!!

  • Well, I wouldn't CALL HIM THAT GOOD LOOKING, JUST SORT OF A GOOD COMIC TIMED ACTOR.

  • Herman(fred Gwynne's) Munster's soooooooooo hot i'd wanna do him!!!!!!

  • weirdo

  • Who me, or the guy above you?

  • Calm down tiger!

  • Fred Gwynne was a HOT Monkey!!!

  • Herman Munster es lo máximo

  • Si Primo!

  • My favourite episode. I thought it was so weird at first but his facial expressions are still Herman even without the make-up, so it totally grew on me.

  • MY FAV ALSO... HE WILL LIVE FOREVER!
