whatever you do--- DO NOT BUY FROM DEAL EXTREME! I only say this because I am and OCD kind of person (not really) but I like all the colors to be consistent. If you buy from DX, they will send you a new case but the bezels around the screen will be white- unless you get an official Nintendo replacement. So yeah thats my rant on Deal Extreme

I still haven't fixed mine yet.. first I was delayed by an incorrect button in my replacement shell, and now I'm too chicken to attempt to resolder the speakers to the new top screen. This was about a year ago.

dont get a shock clear shell. get the kind lilazanboy13 has. it has the ds logo, official stickers, doesn't scratch, a clear stylus holder, clear stylus, clear gba protector thing, and is way cheaper.

Thanks Big12343, this video helped a lot. I kept the original buttons etc as I did not like the transparent ones. The case does not feel as good quality as the original however a Nintendo case cost £15 pounds more so I can live with that ... plus its now shocking yellow! WARNING do not attempt this unless you are patient and dexterous!

I had to re-drill the screw holes too. Plus, I nearly destroyed the top screen flatwire trying to disconnect it from the mainboard. This is a really tricky job if you're not used to dealing with tiny electronics. If in doubt, you'd be better off getting an expert to fit it for you... like I eventually had to do :-(

Just finished modding my DS lite, yeah this pretty much is the worst thing I've ever wasted my time on. The case looks nice, but feels cheap. One small tool you will need to add, adrill with a 1/16 drill bit to bore out the holes for the original screws. I will never do this again.
