  • This video is excellent! Thanks for posting!

  • @akompsupport Glad you liked it ! In the near future, I'll start buildiing AK pistols and rifles in non-standard calibers. Look for .358 Gremlin.... a 7.62 X 39 necked up to .35 caliber.

  • Amazing! How easy would it be to comvert a replica 1863 Springfield rifle/musket to a 58. caliber Snider rifle?

  • @richardelam100 I havea guy right now who's interested in doing that very thing. Call the shop when you get a chance and we can discuss it.

  • I love videos like this. I can't do any of this and I'll never try but I still find it fascinating.

  • Great Video Jim!! Ive Been Waiting For a New Video I Love Gunsmithing Buddy

  • @chrischiampo Soemtimes it might take me a week or three to get a new video posted to You Tube. Got to keep in mind that I do this for a living, and sometimes I get too backlogged with customers to take the time to do a video. But I'll always try to get some stuff posted here as I can. ALSO, I have free tip videos available on GunWork's website that are NOT posted live here. Just sign up on the page for the free tip videos on how to do stuff yourself.

  • Also if we wanted someone to make this, how much $ are we talking / would expect

  • @kotor39 Unfortunately, there are just about no more of these parts kits available unless you REALLY look for them. I got probably the last 5 parts sets from Centerfire Systems. I can build YOUR existing kit if you have one.

  • @downeastgunworks How much should we expect to pay for a Suomi M31 to be (built from a parts kit?) made for instance, Thanks

  • @kotor39 Centerfire Systems is selling a semi auto M-31 Suomi for about $ 400 - $ 450 ready to shoot right now ( dealer cost ) ... THIS would be cheaper than having your parts kits built by a licensed 07 FFL. To be honest, they're much cheaper because the company mass produces them, whereas a gunsmith has to make and fit all the parts by hand, one at a time. I can still build your parts kit for you, but it might not be as cheap as you'd like.

  • @downeastgunworks Thanks for the reply, I was just wondering about the overall cost. I love your channel and can't wait for more!

  • @kotor39 Thanks ! I'll be building AK 47 rifles and pistols in the near future in custom calibers.

  • Excellent

  • A couple of things I DID not mention in the video..... due to time constraints. There's a " denial pin " installed into the top of the receiver right behind the trunnion to prevent a full auto bolt from being installed into the gun. And I didn't mention the safety lever I had to fabricate for this gun. You Tube likes me to keep the videos short within reason, so this wasn't a " how to build " video.

  • Great build! I'm glad a professional gunsmith has covered this topic. :)

  • Very cool
