  • I love that they can make fun of the crazy direction that this culture can turn towards. Spike Lee is so smart

  • @soulxx1 Two thumbs up!!

  • I love this beat...

  • "That's why you gotta keep the wisdoms around"

  • 0:09 to 0:11 CANIBUS

  • This is a funny scene. great post

  • lol yea i love this scene.

  • The fake adverts in the film are the best... Timmy Timmy Timmy Hill... Ni**er! Spike Lee is a fuckin' genius!!!

  • @BENITOLOCO84 A genius indeed. I don't know why I like Lee's movies so much. I'm a white guy from a country where black and white people usually - and I say usually, not always - get along, yet there is something really fascinating about Lee's take on society.

  • yea gets dat wattamellen's

  • "They ain't fuckin pronouncin' that shit!" ROFL

  • Spike's best film in my opinion. It hit on so many points

  • Why the hell does Charli Baltimore remind me of Ladybug from Digable Planets in this segment? They should have cast Ladybug..."73 million miles above these Devils"...:P

  • @MsMerising If I didn't know who Charli Baltimore was I would have probably that she was Ladybug too. Charli Baltimore does look and act like her is this clip. Ladybug could have played that role to a T. Good either way though

  • @ASHAKI1 -- I bought the dvd at a Blockbuster that was getting rid of all their excess inventory. Got for a mere $4.46. Great art at friend prices.

  • this shit is dope

  • Only Hollywood can take a group of talented MC's and turn them into a bunch of drunken idiots. I give this video the GASFACE!!

  • @CitySkin09 you just don;t get it.

  • @tuchesuavae - They make a group a talented drunks.

  • @CitySkin09 *facepalm*

  • @Moo206 -- You know I'm tellin' the truth...

  • @CitySkin09 i kinda feel u g.......but it really just symbolize rebels.....they do come off igrorant by they mannerism, but wat they sayin still intelligent.....come on mos wouldnt sell out like that

  • @blakaxx88 -- I can see what the views of the Mau Maus are, it just irritates me that a group of talented individuals have to be portrayed in such a way. A close second is The Legendary Roots Crew being portrayed in the film as music group called "The Alabama Porch Monkeys". I'm not even of black descent and I am offended.

  • @CitySkin09

They're all 'in' on the joke, hence why they were cast and could pull it off. The irony of the APM band is that was the actual case - black folks talentg many times were stepped over for a Caucasian equivalent. Spike Lee has his flaws but he also has his brillian moments and they run plenty in this film...excellent satire :)

  • @MsMerising

Or, black talent wasn't 'valued', cast as maids, servants, step and fetch it characters and minstrels (all depicted in this film). Waking up, still sleepy :P

  • @blakaxx88

Spike Lee is taking the piss out of 5%..I'm sure he's encountered many who 'think' they are intelligent but once you break down what they're saying it's jibberish and the actions hypocritical. He targeted everyone here - 5% black Nationalists, 'down' white folks, buppies, media and capitalism...excellent stuff :) Mx

  • Charlie Baltimore is biracial. What is she talking about. However, that woman is truly intelligent in real life.

  • @Thedarksecret1 That was the point. Similarly, with MC Serch calling himself 1/16. It was satire.

  • The groove was classic

  • brill video!

...some interestin things in ur comment soulxx, tho saying yanks are so dumb then biggin up somethin they made aint exactly genius u no

  • wen dat white guy talks- i love da way everything goes wid da beat.

  • @kadeen3000 that is mc serch from 3rd bass

  • Love Mos Def Shirt. . ."The Black Hellacaust". . .

  • this might be the dumbest thing i have ever seen

  • whos the women

  • @arsenaln03

    charlie baltimore

  • "You know them gray people be trying ton trick us wit dey SLICKERY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" BWAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

  • "That we from here on, henceforth and whatnot should spell (black) B-L-A-K." LMAO

  • I love how my boy Canibus is just looming in the back like a EFFIN' GOON.....haha....best rapper alive=Canibus....Mos and Serch are hilarious in this....

  • B L A K man, BLAK the opposite of white man, you know what I'm sayin'? Like a member of the AFRICAN community.

BLACK: Angry, Dark, Sullen, Depressed, Wicked, Blackballed, Blacklisted, Black counts as bad luck, Bad guys wear black.

Must have been a WHITE guy that started all that!

Bamboozled - Spike Lee at his best.

  • I wish they would air this on BET.

  • they can't because now it's them this movie is talking about

  • @lowedwn ain't it a shame?

  • "That's why you gotta keep the wisdoms around, man"

  • lol @ Mc Serch in a loose du rag lmao

  • mos def looks so high inthis vid

  • I love how 1/16th & smooth Blak are drinking "the Bomb" malt liquor, the sponsor of the Minstrel show, well at least aint none of them wearing Timmi Hillnigger

  • Was that white guy MC Serch?

  • Yeah it is MC Serch. He aint white. He's just light skinned. lol

  • first time I heard this song was in instrumental form at a dj show a while back, sounded so sick cutting over it

  • This is one of the best parodies of political hip hop I've ever seen ahhaha

  • This is encapsulated in 1/16 Blak. "How Blak? Shade of da UNIVERSE!" Right up dere wit "Malcolm X"

  • how old is this is it 2000 ?

  • yea

  • hahahaha

  • i just loved the mau maus. they may had a bunch of hilarious flaws to their "strategies" but they were the only ones who actually believed in a just cause, but they were ignorant to the fact that the means to their just ends were usually misguided "trigger happy reaction" which gets nobody nowhere and defeated their diffuse purposes. half the time were they sure they knew what they were talking about..nah what i mean, nah what i'm sayin'? oh well, at least the will was there if not the capacity.

  • how do you even fucking pronounce that shit?!

hahahaha! oh this whole scene is just so lolworthy.

  • ju diddy are you watching this video...i sent it to you.....i knew you could dig it bro....i wanna meet Mos def

  • Yanks are so dumb. The films a satirical take on Hollywoods betrayal of African-Americans. The camera pitch and cinematography is reflecting the city lifestyle in your face setting. Genius and way beyond the scope of some the dumb asses who cant understand it.

  • damn genius comment!!! lmao.

  • @soulxx1 lol, Spike Lee is a millionaire making stupid student film level movies. If thats betrayal, then someone needs to betray me too.

  • @soulxx1 You over analyze too much, Nigger shows arent that much hard to understand. They're niggers and that all they do, nigger shit.

  • @ZaeViola So why the fuck you watching it. Dick wipe. Fuck off!

  • stop fightin' !

all my friends call me a slut LOL BD

  • where can i find the beat

  • No a white guy thought about that so they can call themselves niggas to and sound cool

  • that is from a song you dumb ass......... mc search from 3rd base said that in his part of the song......has nothing to do withthe movie orniggas as you call them over youtube but cower in shame in person

  • what did he say?

it`s either you got my comment wrong or you are stupid.

I call it as I see it so why should i be ashamed to call someone a nigger(no matter how you want to spell it)?

Did you go to school at all? You need to go back and punch your English teacher in the face for not teaching you about grammar.

  • realdef is lol real stupid

  • was that kid capri rapping with them?

  • nope that's MC Serch from the old school group, 3rd Bass. He was also the host for ego trip's The (White) Rapper Show.

  • That beat is SICK!

  • Who can put the res t of the video on this.

  • just rent the movie sun!

  • umh charli baltamore yum yum yum yum. she is almost a sin

  • The film is a GREAT TEACHING TOOL...I luv'd it and still diggin it!*S* Thanks for the BROADCAST baby! ~Kitti~ Meow!

  • yo som1 should put up the clip wen they were tryin out to be the band for the movie

    that was my favorite scene

  • "Black cats are bad luck, bad guys wear black, must have been a white guy that started all that"

  • YES! my fav clip from this movie

  • Spike a lso said in the commentary to this film that there would be a day when it would be acceptable for white people to say Nigga and it be accepted by black people dispite the racial connotations. Has anyone seen a little show by the name of "Chappelle Show". Spike saw it coming.

  • you have to love mos def and mc search. and damn, charlie baltimore is hot! she can't rap worth a shit but she is definitely hot. I liked this movie. it was psychotic.

  • Spike is a genius, fuck the nay sayers, this film only disturbed biggots, and token mentally disturbed blacks who have been revealed. Spike goes for the juggler vein and I love him for putting out the truth once more. There are more spike lees comming too.

  • I heard one black viewer behind me say "Spike Lee's gotta go back to film school." Comming from a black guy it sounded serious.

I thought the movie was more of a cynical view on the media. Americans have low standards for TV; forst Jerry Springer, then reality TV, Big, Brother, Paris Hilton, etc.

Blackface isn't funny and it's also disturbing. But some audiences will watch anything.

  • i love this movie. it's so smart that most people don't get it. white or bla"k".

    keep the wisdom around...

  • why are people who haven't seen the movie even commenting on it? you would have to watch bamboozled to understand the context of this scene.... this movie has a lot of depth and perspective... goes into stereotypes, and exploitation of "blak" people

  • grgrgrgff....this movie is made for blind people like you......i would feel sorry for you but......i rather your mother be raped

  • grgrgrgff spreads his ass and sprays hot shit in akajang's face, then looks at him and sees that he doesn't look any different, perhaps even slightly more handsome post shit-face.

  • this movie was a failure. camerawork is shit too

  • What are you talking about. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean itis a failure. You have a bad perspective on life.

  • Actually, I'm pretty sure it was supposed to look like that, camarawise. Gives it a slightly more realistic look.

  • is that charlie baltimore?

  • I've never seen more degenerate racism in all my life.

  • Know what I mean? Know what I'm saying? What I'm sayin' know what I mean??!? Blak iz blak! Great song.

  • word! best line.

  • charlie i fucking love you..

  • It was more that he was showing that people are so accepting of things that if that came back up what would have to happen to show people put up with too much in the wide scheme of things. There were whites and blacks involved in the making of the show, that was pitched by a black man. I love that he tells people to be aware of things done because SOME whites can be very hurtful and try to keep you down. It's big because hes a movie director and can't do it little lol.

  • Mos Def was goooooooooonnnnee...he was lit up by that Yak! lol

  • "makes fun of white people who revere and propagate black stereotypes" would be a more accurate description.

  • I know I'll get flamed for this prolly, but Serch is a hottie, and can rap his ass off. Always loved him.

  • lol:o) I can feel you on the rap-thing but I ain't about to think he sexy or nuttin- but it's all good!!! Mos Def tho', he's hot! You ever seen The White Rapper Show on VH1, hosted by Serch? Yo! Best tv I've ever seen...

  • lmao thats my part

  • I swear that's how folks be when their drunk and high...they swear they be saying the most illest things ever...

  • This film has more to do about black people. He makes more fun of black people who are worsening the image than he does white people.

  • mc serch sucks

  • mc serch discovered Nas.

  • jewish dude

  • errrrrrrrm he didn`t discover Nas he jus got Nas his First major appearance. Nas came in 88 and back to the grill again BBQ was in 90 or 91

  • good movie 5 stars

  • Hahahahahahahah look at fuckin MC Serch

  • hahaha mos def drunk as hell
