  • oh definitely didnt read the comments for this video i guess some real op ivy fans already know but others check out my video

  • wow no one realizes that rbf didnt make this song more ska by "adding" horns. look at the video i have of op ivy doing this exact version of unity. rbf didnt make it their own at all, they just did an amazing cover of op ivys unreleased horn version

  • mega cool =)

  • "Everyone's on trial for the crime of living; Arbitrary differences condemned and unforgiving; we are all judges, we are all the same; we are all guilty, we are all the same."

    STOP THIS WAR!!!!

  • Everyone's on trial for the crime of living: others who are different are condemned and unforgiven. We are all guilty, we are all the same, we are all guilty, we are all the same.

  • wow, it really means something to you, eh? Alright, I'll nerd-out with you. The lyrics I wrote are from Unreleased Energy, THE ORIGINAL OPIVY! I like this version, and you are right, those lyrics sound right for the Reel Big Fish version. Punk ain't perfection mate.

  • actually Op Ivy's original lyrics were "Everyone's on trial for this crime of living, Arbitrary differences are condemned and unforgiven, we are all judges, we are all the same - we are all guilty, we are all the same"

  • I dunno ... I mean, he looks pretty cool. And he is performing theatrics on a stage ... sooo heaven forbid he wear a costume.

  • maybe a fag but his wife is quite the looker

  • yeah yeeah

  • waa,this cool man.

this cover better than rancid man.

but i like rancid more than this.

    hehe.

    malaysia boleh.

  • Go RANCID!!! Ya buddy I'm talkin 2 u friend

  • you put the signs in reverse.

  • What does Aaron and Scott say before "We are all guilty, we are all the same"?? I can't understand it, they're saying it too fast. :$

  • Yeah, it's hard to understand. Did they make that part up?

  • I don't know. Finally, someone told me what they're saying. It's: "Everyone's on trial for the crime of living. Others who are different are condemned and unforgiven."

And then "We are all guilty, we are all the same." :)

  • to answer your question no they didn't make it up, Op Ivy actually has a different version of this song in which they changed the chorus to this one and also had a sax player

  • which can be found on the unreleased energy album.

  • This song is freakin' awesome. This is the first time I hear it and I already love it. The message too! Hell yes.

  • dude ali from zebrahead is awsome. zebrahead fuckin rocks

  • is the guy rapping from another band?

  • yea, zebrahead

  • oh my bad, i just realized they said it in the beginning

  • fuckn great man fuckn great!

  • yes, lyrics are great man!

  • Its always funny how every cover song on you tube has a debate about which band does it better as if its a comption between the bands.

Reel Big Fish isn't trying to replace operation Ivy's version, they obviously like the song and think it would be a fun song to play.

  • there not even close to op ivy

there are a lot of better ska bands than them, in my opinion. but this is a damn good cover, and from what i've heard of them so far, they are pretty good.

streetlight manifesto and op ivy and pain are my three favorite ska bands

  • wow...i partially agree with this ignorant freak. these guys are good, but op ivy is better. unfortuanetly he is still a moronic jerk.

  • ali is a legend zebrahead and rbf rule

  • this is like 10x better in this (live) version, than the recorded one that went on the tribute album

  • original was so much better..prob one of my fav ska songs by operation ivy..my fav band of ALL time..i like the songs big city and bad town too...but this version is awesome too

  • Original definately better!!! But this cover is preaty good!!

  • JUSTIN WASSUP MAN ITS ME AGRON XD

  • ok no one can do one of op ivys song better than they can

  • so much better than operation ivey's version

  • L 2 Spell n00b *ivy*

  • go kill yourself.......

  • This version of unity is accually off the unreleased version of energy. this is how the original song goes. -SKA KING

  • Where can i find that?

I've been looking for it forever!

  • eh not to bad, pretty heavy on the ska side. Cant compare to Op Ivy!

  • anyone know how the chorus goes?

  • I actually like this cover a lot now. It's the only thing I listen to by Reel Big Fish though. I ain't exactly a big ska fan except for a handful of bands.

  • one of THE best covers of all time

I love Op Ivy and RBF

  • operation ivy ftw!

  • skammunists pwn this song, you dont know the skammunists? thats ok, you will

  • reel big fish hell yeah

  • Comment: Wtf.

  • I think I just went stupid...sigh...who is that in the striped shirt?

  • That's Scott Klopfenstein :p

  • yeah i tohguht this version was a bit awesome

  • that guy from zebrahead ruined teh song.Unity from "Viva la Internet" is much better.

  • i thought it was good.

  • dude, awesome

  • lmao. THE HEAVY FLOW IS LIKE A GIRL DURING THAT TIME OF THE MONTH.

i love that song. i love this band. best performance of this song.

  • its such an amazing remake of an incredible song by a legendary band

  • Simply amazing.

  • What DVD is this from?

  • the dvd in "Our Live Album Is Better Than Your Live Album"! I CAN"T TYPE!!! AHHHH!!! i have the new cd now! its called "Monkeys For Nothin and the Chimps For Free"! LOL! good ol fashioned RBF humor!

  • THE HEAVY FLOW!!!

  • they like doubled the speed...thats sweet

  • i am a massive fan of operation ivy but i must admit i prefer this version ok it might not have the same point as the original but i think they gave it a new lease of life and yes rancids version is good too

  • Yep, it's a very decent cover. The guy from Zebrahead is a good vocalist. I got one of thier CDs today as a matter of fact. (MFZB)

  • It would be better if they didn't add horns to the song.

  • Thats a beautiful guitar Aaron has....

  • its a gibson les paul double cut-away model

  • Actually, it's a Gordon Smith guitar. I'm pretty sure it's a GS2.

  • I fucking love the commentary of this DVD It is the best part! If you watched it than you will understand this... Poopermashit!

  • yeh i wish i was there at this show...... but when rancid did it in detroit i was in heavennnnnn

  • they made this song horrible

  • you really think they made it horrible??? yeah it doesnt sound exactly like the original... but then it wouldnt be a cover if it did... it has its own life... having RBF and Ali perform it could very well open up brand new listeners to Op Ivy... Have you heard the Gym Class Hereos cover of Under the Bridge? It's completely different from the original... but good in its own right... different doesnt equal horrible

  • Awesome video

    Great quality

  • where is this at?!

  • it looks like the alley in fullerton, CA but i'm not sure

  • thanks, you know if this show is on dvd? ive see live videos of them here all over youtube and i want the dvd if there is one

  • it is on dvd. it is part of their" our live album is better than your live album" package. two live cds and a dvd. and to the person above. the show was filmed at the alley in fullerton. i was at that show, rbf played two sets. so basically for 15 bucks 3 hours of rbf goodness

  • Yeah. It's one of the discs on the "Our Live Album Is Better than Your Live Album" album.

  • god i hate the original, but this is such an amazing scover, i love it

  • respect. great video!!!

  • the cover version is good but the real operation ivy version is awesome !!

  • awesome. perfect

  • Weird...at the end, Scott puts on his guitar but a few seconds later, when they begin playing Snoop Dogg, Baby, Scott is holding a trumpet again and the guitar is gone. :o

  • Well yeah. He switches instruments. He plays guitar, trumpet, bass and does back up vocals.

  • Well, I know that. But...he had his trumpet, but then he switched to guitar. But then a few SECONDS later, he's on trumpet again.

  • I'm guessing he switched at different parts.

  • Yeah the editing on the entire dvd is kinda choppy like that, if you have the dvd listen to the commentary, they make fun of the editing a lot.

  • he doesn't play bass, but the rest is right

  • AND Piano.

  • awesome

  • Siiiiiiiiiick

  • ripped directly off the dvd just how i like it.
