Considering they are only playing one song, a single for TVthey wouldn't nessecarily need pedals if no changes to the tone are made. But yes it is not live.

It's strange that the drums are the only live sound here. Usually It's the vocals that are only live in a studio performance.

it sounds almost identical to the studio version because they are a band who train to themselves to acheive perfection in everything they do. the name of the song strongly reflects it, Sing for 'absolution'.Muse is just too great, but i have to admit to be fair there are some parts of the song that are played directly from the studio version.
