  • bad quality...

  • free, smirnoff and kossoff

  • i wack off to this song. MMMMM paul rodgers

  • from 2:23 to 3:38 it's sounds as if FREE accidentally discovered disco...the sound that was to influence the latter half of the decade ( at least that is a humorous thought)

  • Great riff with crunch Marshall sound!

  • Isle of wight 70'

  • freakin' amazin'

  • the guitar solo sounds alot like angus young

  • Kossoff was a huge influence on Angus a few years before he formed ACDC.

  • That's farm out. *

  • FREE to fucking rock man...Kermit

  • DOES ANY ONE KNOW ...were this was filmed,?

  • @kevrs2

Freshwater, Isle of whight me old mate

  • cheers man

  • The Isle Of Wight Festival, England-Aug 1970

  • cheers mate

  • If there were an entry into the video library for "pure, raw rock n' roll"; it should be this video!

  • Free, Hendrix, Rory Gallagher, The Who

What about that for a festival?

  • wooooooooooooooo

    rock on! xD

  • What a great F******g song and this video shows a band that was in the moment and giving it their all.

  • Love Paul Kossoff, just love him!

  • Totally agree!!!! RIP.

  • Awesome. I saw parts of this on a video called "Message To Love". The crowd reaction was deafening, 600,000 people generates a lot of energy.....

  • Classic Greatness

  • ..wow...super!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I sure am glad this is the music I grew up on and learned how to play guitar with! Great video! Those were great years for music. Free, The James Gang with Joe Walsh, Rory Gallagher, Robin Trower, Johnny Winter, The Faces, The Motor City Mad Man--Ted Nudgent, Cream, The list goes on and on...I wouldn't trade those years for anything! What great concerts we had back then. Back when everyone could afford tickets!! lmao

  • what a band !

what an era for rock and roll !

    i pity today's poor music . . .

  • oh wow wasnt paul rodgers gorgeous! love watching this video, the long haired guitarist is totally into it along with the drummer.great song and video

  • Too right - I love his voice and the look of him!

You're right about Paul C the guitarist: poor love was probably out of his head. Sadly he's no longer with us. What a waste.

  • Isle of Wight?

  • haha, this is the song i played at my first gig.

    simply awsome =)

  • its the song I played at my first gig too!

  • I did this in my first group too! lmao My first paying gig I was in a three piece group 1979. I was under age and couldn't believe I was getting paid to play! Holy Shit I just realized I'm OLD!! lmao

  • That's a great memory to have.

  • I have heard this song a million times on the radio!! Shit I thought it was Bad Company that sang it? LOL

  • Same singer.

  • I did it a few months ago with the school janitor as the singer =/... rock n' roll or what? =)

  • Ha!

  • Yuck! What happened to Paul?? Looks like he crawled out from under some rock!

  • ALL RIGHT NOW BABY its ALL RIGHT NOW !!!!!!

    ROCK !

  • I think that Russell grant guy on UK tv robbed his look from Rodgers lol!

  • Do you mean russel brand?

  • yea him

  • Now come to mention it your right haha I think, as the previous guy said I think ya mean Russel Brand but hey does look like he did, what a copycat eh?

  • @jsmith19810808 It could just be that Russel Brand was the illegitimate son of Paul Rodgers. It explains so much.

  • We are unworthy.

  • damn cool looking bassist

  • - Świetny, dynamiczny utwór mocnej grupy na wspaniałym festiwalu w Woodstock. A ja w tym czasie jako dziecko oglądałem w telewizji lądowanie człowieka na księżycu. Dobre, co?

  • This Is the version that they use on singstar ( the short version though)

  • oh,

  • Lucky enough to do the lighting on stage for them at the Penthouse sorely missed

  • this song reminds me of Jackyl's "Kill the Sunshine"

  • I love both songs! Had trouble finding this song, haha

  • it is spam isnt it?

  • sorry, it's Paul Kossof (1950/1976) the original style of guitar, and Angus Young (very good) the copy.

  • it should be angus young has the same vibrato style as paul kossof... this is 5 years earlie than any AC/ DC song

  • @MattiGardners haha i knew some1 was gonna say that

  • Koss was a one-off!

  • The band sounded flat and spare though they picked up at the instrumental and end. Kossoff shined.

  • I saw Paul Rodgers in a more recent video and I gotta say the man still has it

  • Is that really Koss on guitar? awesome, no other voice like pauls.

  • @zanystarblaster yea thts Koss. he is awesome....

  • The time go way, bat good music never desappeair.

  • Your really good at spelling!

  • so are you! (your?)

  • You're a picky bugger! But seriously, It's not as bad as "The time go way, bat good music never desappeair"

  • Not fake, but fantastic Realism. The stage presence is the best of its era. The musicianship is second only to Cream. WOULD LOVE TO PURCHASE THIS CONCERT, IF IT'S AVAILABLE!!!!!!!

  • Free Forever DVD - Has audio of the entire set played. Also video of Mr. Big and Be My Friend.

  • fake.

  • "awesome"!

  • "ONE MORE TIME!"

  • crocodile rocks

  • if u want free stuff, lockerz is the answer no scam u need an invite pm and i;ll send u one

  • And now in English please?

  • crássico!!!

  • Is the riff similar to Steve Miller Band's "Rock 'N Me?"

  • Steve miller indeed uses the same riff and then adds a simple 12 bar to create

" Rock N ME" However Free came up with the riff some years before Steve Miller.

So I guess you would say SM borrowed

    the riff from these guys.

  • It is because Steve Miller wrote the Rock N Me riff as a sort of tribute to Paul Kossoff when he died in 1976

  • makes sense

  • thats real music!

  • cool song !!!

  • what concert is that and has it album?

  • Isle of Wight and Fire and Water

  • GREAT

  • Yeah i'd say the lead guitarist is pulling the carlos santana woodstock face during his solo. (drug induced facial expression) I'm thinking carlos was on mescaline.

watch the santana woodstock performance. haha

it too is a priceless face.

You can see the music embody him.

  • Actually, according to Santana himself, he was on LSD during his performance at Woodstock.

  • Who wasn't?

  • muitoooooooooooooooooooooo fodaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa caralhooooo *-*

  • swweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeettttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

  • Wish they had shown the bass player's hands a little in the breakdown and then 2nd half of guitar solo. He's like playing 2 parts, sounds like, pedalling the low A, and at the same time playing high G-D's and F#-D's, yeah?

  • I just love the fact that kossof's "comment" on his guitar was so in time with rogers singing, even though the whole band took enough drugs that day to kill a herd of wild buffallo!! lol

  • You can see where Angus Young of AC/DC gets his influences...

  • Estupenda canción y interpretación.

  • Jesus, thats a big audiance!

  • its russell brand looool

  • Russell Brand. I like it.

  • alllllllllllllllllll right now................

  • Separated at birth Paul Rodgers and Jimmy Page>find a photo of Page wearing a beard, they look very much alike.

  • Fantastic!

  • Going to see Paul Rodgers play at Hammersmith in November.

  • m lu chic!!!

  • Me too :)

  • deansusky...that song your afer is "Wishing Well".

  • Great video......

  • What a song ...what a groove and what a voice.

  • and pauls voice had only gotten better .MMUCH MUCH BETTER :)

  • Everytime I plug in my guitar, this is the first song I play. It's kind of a joke with my wife. She says as soon as she hears the amp click on, she knows what's coming. I just can't help it; it's probably the greatest rock riff of all time.

  • still great!

(I lost the video where his daughter sings- and son does somethinh too, I think, can somebody help me?)

  • ON You Yube, type in Paul Rodgers with Jasmine and Steve

  • I think Russell Brand is a Paul Rodgers clone. Cant ever look as good as Paul tho.

  • I found it thanks

Geeze, even my mom's stereo comes to mind - one of those cabinets that as big as the bottom half of a china cabinet!!

  • this is paul kossoff

  • to you young knuckleheads this is one great tune! Wen you get older you'll realize the lead singer in this band (Paul Rodgers) has one of the best voices in rock N roll history!

  • any one has the B side of this song

  • Great Song!

  • my baby sister who is 3 would randomly start singing this. it is hilarious to see a small child sing "Aw white now, baby, zz aw white now." :)

  • haha thats funny

  • OOOOOooold! i love it!

  • 0:15 hell yeah!

  • I usually avoid this song as i think Free are only known for this song which is a crime but this is amazing, Free have to be my favourite band of all time!

  • great classic - not rare performance, it is from isle of whight, 1970. thanks !

  • I,m some where in that crowd!! Been listening to Fire and Water and Highway on a loop all this a/m.Koss was a brilliant guitarist, what would he have been like today??

  • Wow! You were there almost 40 years ago and you heard the great Koss? If only I could go back in time! This is the time and the place I'd choose.

What would Koss be like today? Well, he'd be almost 60, so he'd qualify for a old age pension bus pass, but he'd still be Paul Kossoff.

I miss you Paul Wish you were still with us.

  • the lead singer kinda reminds me of the geico caveman

  • Go Cardinal!

  • One of my favorites songs while growing up, listening to my older brother's rock n' roll. Man, give me a Free-Steppenwolf-Grand Funk concert, and I'd have been ecstatic.

  • the thought of Free-Steppenwolf-Grand Funk concert just made it necessary for me to change underwear!

  • is there any song that they doin in that style? i can't find any..

  • What a cutie...Thats why at 50 I been sporting a' Bad Co'. Tattoo...besides he's a musical genius

  • how can you possibly compare the killers to the mighty free? ffs

  • Otilija09 ..Had posted a comment ..Saying "Old good song ".. I'am saying this song would be relevent today ....Check my words ..1stclasspost

  • paul kossoff's playing remind me so much of angus young, have a very similar sound!!!

    amazing players!!

  • I'm an old time bass player from the sixties. I sure would like to learn the bass to this song note for note. If anybody knows of a how to bass cover video, Please let me know on my channel. Thanks Lyerlyman.

  • Muy rockera rola.

  • Great song!

  • i have misheard problems too, sometimes that sounds better than original..

  • NiC3

  • What caused the early death of Paul Kossof?

  • Drug related heart problems. He was only 25.

    Source- Wikipedia

  • Drugs and alcohol! Era un borracho y drogadicto, Excuse me for my bad english

  • When the camera pans out across the crowd at the end it looks almost biblical.

  • Killer tone,all of it:)...vocals,guitar,drums...

That bass is SO fat(must be the alnico pickups/rosewood neck and his amp)

  • Their only commercial song. Just to think, they weren't too keen on it but it payed the bills while touring the blues clubs they so loved. Music with passion. Kaikkien aikojen paras britti bändi, bravo.

  • This is ridiculously good for a live open air recording.

  • Vocals need to be higher in the mix.

  • i agree

  • JUST ACE

  • I think he's better Live.... than on their album(s)/cd(s) and that's a compliment! He has an AWESOME live voice =)

(not that his "recorded" voice sounds bad. I just like it more live!)

  • you could've just said "albums". But yeah, I like this song.

  • yea i know XD

    fail =)

  • lul. =P
