  • FATALITY!

  • @GENERALxRAAM1 hahahahah, so true! :)

    --Nova

  • How do you manage to get to put on demo's like this? I have done demo's for general padded weapons at Shivacon back when it was still in Virginia. But I wasent the organizer. Sooo, where do you start to be able to do this for a crowd of people???

  • @Tabygrl Hi Tabygrl, happy holidays... well, it helps that I'm a local fencing instructor, and (in this case) Dani's family helped me set this up for her brother's local boy scout / cub scout troupe.

Although I do indeed do demos of all sorts--some by request, others in different ways. :) I suggest you contact some folks and start seeing where things go!

  • Where the hell i can get saber like that?!

  • Yup yup. Do you guys ever do any party requests even if its out of state? I would atleast like to play with a CF saber once. :D I can never get my hands on any of the boards and you can't sign up for any on the Erv website anymore. ;-; Too bad yo don't sell any old un-used boards, I'd be all over one (Or two) if you did. :D

  • @jedimastergarcia87 the way to stay "in the know" on CF releases is to check the FX-Sabers site. A new release is scheduled soon, though...

As to parties/events outside of my general area... for ME it's basically impossible (sorry)... but perhaps there is someone relatively close to your area? You'd need to check the boards...

  • Do the two sabers have Crystal Focus boards in them? If so lucky. :p

  • @jedimastergarcia87 Close... one of the sabers was a Crystal Focus setup--the one I was using. The other one was a MRFX setup.

I actually would have used the red Flange III (instead of the green), but that saber had a problem, and wasn't able to be used.

Otherwise, Dani would have used the green one, and I would have used the red one. :) Would have made more sense... but that's just life. But the fight came out fine, right? :)

  • man you are soo lucky you dont live in arkansas cuz you would prolly come to my troop then even thought the blades are polly carbonate we'd find a way to cut something in half

  • Very nice, and by the way you are hilarious!

  • I think he did mean "safe" and not "save". :)

  • that was very nice of you to show those kids how to be save.

  • mines a basic with a sound board with 5 bassic sounds. the blade is here and all the stuff. the hardest part is to come, putting it all together. good luck with urs!!!

  • i got mine from the custom saber shop now and am in the processs of building my own

  • wat did u make the blade from?

  • which video would you suggest...and money is mostlikely no object...

  • awesome battle! but i gotta ask...how do u make em to where they wont break? from what ive heard they break easily and im buildin one so i was wanting to kno

  • They do not break nearly ever. Granted, you'd have to look at my videos in more detail to understand how these are being made.

They are NOT the typical props bought in a store. They are all hand-made, hand-soldered, designed from scratch.

  • I watched BOP episode I and II.Does thie mean that Novastar falls to the Dark Side?Because he is called Blackstar in this video

  • Novastar dies in BOP II... but regarding this demo, since Dani really only had the one costume I provided her with... I figured it would make most sense if I wore a "darkside" costume and played the bad guy. :) The red Flange III saber was on my workbench in need of upgrades/repairs at the time of the demo, so... I just used the green one.

We only had one night to get it figured out, so... it's not like I had a lot of time to get it all "dialed in", heheh.

  • Any hits on what hapens in BOP III?

P.S.Could you make a video in wich you build a saber from scratch so that everyone could do it?

  • I can't wate for BOP III to come out.

It has the best story of all fan made movies :)

P.S.Darth Necrolosis kind'a reminds me of Darth Sidious

  • didnt i hear it crack?

  • Hear what crack? My head? The sabers? :) Nah, neither.

  • the sabers

  • dont they break easy?

  • Nope. Not these.

  • kids will have fun when they want to fight

    you're great jedi trainer :)

  • Where did you get the costume?

  • That is a good question... I---don't really remember anymore, it was somewhere online and it only cost like $100 or so(?)... although you don't see every part of it here. It's essentially a Maul outfit although it's not really my style to "exactly copy" the movie stuff... but pretty much all I had for the time... :)

  • that was really neat! totally awesome man. very very nice job

  • Thanks, glad you like... I was surprised that it ended up looking OK considering Dani actually doesn't have any martial arts experience... and we had to throw it together in about an hour or so the night before!! I mean... it's just a DEMO. :D

But I'm looking forward to working on more projects where A LOT more rehearsal and speed can come into play, heheheh...

  • yh i loved it, u did so well to say u had 1 hour :D

  • that was awesome!

  • you shoulda been using a red one

  • I wanted to, but at the time, my red Flange III saber was in the midst of a hardware and components upgrade... :)

    That's the breaks! heheh

  • hey what is the blade made of i watch some of your vids and on some you said you can hit as hard as you can

  • Polycarbonate.

And yes, depending on the blade type, you can hit extremely hard... ... to RIDICULOUSLY hard. :)

  • ok. I'm hooked.

I need to buy one of your sabers!!

    but without sound.

  • AWSOME!!!!!

  • Jeez, Dani's getting really good! Remember when she was scared to kick us?

    ~Chris (former tormtrooper #2)

  • I sure do... but as you can see--no fear now, none. :)

  • lol the girl is wearing uggs

  • Is that what they are called?? :) LOL, I'm going to ask Dani what that's all about, hahah

Keep in mind, we improvised most of this, and it's not like I was able to "go to town" on the costumes, hahaha.

  • thats so AWSOME!!?

  • That was awsome. lol.

  • man i wish i knew if u guys were "recruiting" for help im only 14 but i love this stuff

  • Aw man, that actually looked like it was a lot of fun. Shame I'm in the UK. Would've been nice to watch this in person.

  • No worries... maybe YOU can volunteer to show some saber work to a group of young kids in YOUR area! :)

I know of a few folks in the U.K. who I've shared ideas with and chatted with... some of whom have bought my CF Sound CD! They were all aces in my book...

  • Thats not a bad idea. Shame i'm only 17 and currently weaponless (aside from a metal stick in a metal shaft). Once I have a decent weapon and reach the mile-stone of "credible adult" I may get my current dueling partner and give this idea a shot.

  • hey i live in florida and im wondering whered u get ure saber r they custom made or bought from ultra sabers cause i have 2 MR'S just wonderin

  • Check out my other videos, especially the ones about the "Flange III" sabers.

Additionally, you might enjoy the "actual" performances of "Balance of Power"--much larger saber shows... :)

  • hahaha thats so cool that you go out and do that

  • Very nice nova. Woulda loved to be there...If i wasnt in LA and having knee surgery in a few weeks :P

Can't wait to get back to sabering with you guys :)

  • So did you get your saber proficiency badge or not? :D.

    SWAT.

  • Hey Scott! :) hahahahah, that cracked me up, lol!! hehehehh

  • CUBS NEED MORE SABERS!!!!!!!!!

  • Great demo! Excellent way to introduce younglings to the Star Wars universe.

  • lol Dani just stabs you, cleans your tunic, and pushes you down XD.

    Cool demo!

  • Nice job there, Nova-I mean Blackstar!

  • I'm about as tall as Bruce Lee was... so--never been very tall. Dani is shorter than I am, but she's also 13 years old, lol!

  • to bad shes not gonna be in BOP III :(

  • Well, she COULD yet be in BOP III... all depends.

The other actress who was unable to be in the prior-scheduled show was a different gal altogether. Her name was Ashley. But... this is Dani here in the video.

  • this is amazing and the black costume looks awsome

  • Great Video Nova!

Very Cool How Your Teaching Kids About Lightsaber Fighting/Choreography.

  • Great stuff. There's nothing like inducting the kiddies into the Star Wars universe in a way outside of just watching the movies. ;)

  • nice demo. :)

  • Looking good there! Black suits you well Nova!

I take it the kids had a lot of fun with this? It's always great when the younglings get to participate!

  • ...for those who are wondering--the red Flange III saber was being repaired...

...which is why it was not present in the demo. :)
