  • I grew up watching this man. Whenever anything big was happening, you always looked to "Uncle Walter" for the truth about it.

  • CNN & fox NEED to learn from walter.....he ALWAYS gave the news profesionally with no political agenda. greatness is walter cronkite

  • For 84 years old in this interview i would guess he's at least in his 60s. R.I.P Walter Cronkite.

  • haha, "I'm not ashamed of that in anyway."

larry king's immediate response, "why should you be?" is so perfect. Cronkite is legend.

  • If you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life. Walter loved his job and his at CBS.

  • Beautiful voice for a great bearer of all news good and bad. Fucking class.

  • Walter set the tone for news journalism Walter Cronkite the great who I grown to love I love u Walter

  • legend

  • He's essentially describing the work of a propagandist when he talks about "setting the agenda", and "moulding" information for public consumption. That's what you get if you want information packaged into a coherent narrative. It does have an advantage over a barrage of factoids.

News was also constructed to respect the intelligence of a more politically and socially diverse audience - at least to a degree that sets it far apart from the dumbed-down divisiveness in news today.

  • @billyboy19742004 lol i thought that. when he lost his words it was like he was thinking "uh what am i saying"

  • The greatest journalist of our time...God bless you, Walter Cronkite

  • And the irony now is that most americans trust a fake newsman(Jon Stewart) than any real journalist.

  • Jon Stewart is more factually accurate than anyone on FOX, even if he is a humorist.

  • My young friend's grandpa - who was Latvian, and didn't speak English - always said "Good Night, Walter" at signoff time. I always got a kick out of it at age seven, why, I don't know, but I did.

    Good Night, Walter.
