This is very weird to see these again. Makes me think that perhaps people were more believing in those days and easier to sell crap to. I wonder what changed.
I remember most of those ads apart from the ones which were just for the TVS region (my region was Granada)! I was 11 when these were on telly back in 1984! We look back on so many old ads with great fondness. Sadly, I doubt we'll do that with any of today's commercials!
@joannedj1 oh you will, you wouldnt have thought that you would look back fondly on the '84 commercials when you were 11 because they were for the time, but you did, and when you are 60 or so you will feel the same about todays adverts.
oh my god, where has the last 25 years gone? I remember 98% of these and my daughter is now the age I was when these were on the box. What really worries me is the Whiskas and Wholewheat ads, it was like yesterday I saw them, they were so clear in my memory!!
@Matty112uk ahh it says 1984... but i think it supposed to be harking back to better days... even though to be honest 1984 was much better than today....
Why does that Maxell House jingle sound like that "even the nights are better with someone else beside ya" song?! (Even The Nights Are Better by Air Supply)
Remember the Duracell one quite well that ran for at least two to three years. It spawned a series of adverts including the toy bunny drum in the 1990s.

The Maxwell House "reach higher" and - one nobody mentions - the Windmill "arm-waving" advert are also among my indelible TV memories

The Debenhams "possibilities are endless!" tune has been stuck in my head ever since.

Is it me or does the Mcvitie's ad look a little dated for 1983? Great ads though!

Marrowbone Pal with turkey? Even the dogs had some turkey for Christmas dinner on that day thanks to them!
