Sandra and Bobby was truly one of the most romantic couples of all time even when they broke up they still truly love each other they was soul-mates to each other and this video in a small way shows just how special the love they share
Amazing man!! What a blast I had. I fell in love with Bobby and Sandra when I was maybe 6 years old and my mom was crucial in all things "cool". RIP, I miss y'all more than you know. Thanks for posting. GREAT sound btw. :)
I forgot how cute Sandra Dee was. They made a great couple and it's sad that it had to end for some reason. Two great talents of a time which produced some of the best ever.
Sandy was molested by her step father and became alcoholic. Bobby was sick as a child with Rheumatic fever which damaged his heart valves and doomed him to an early death.
They both fought against terrible odds, but they loved each other, even after their divorce.
The 4 people that didn't like this song have no clue and shouldn't be allowed to procreate. bobby is the Standard!! He set a new standard and nobody even me will ever have his tenacity, gumption to stand up for George Davis (colored comedian) to open for him at the Copa. Something Frank pioneered as well with Sammy. Much respect here.
Sandra couldn't go on without Bobby..Her life after Bobby's death wss a tragedy..they were so in turned & in love with each other..that sghe life meant nothing without him.. I'm very surprised that Hollywood never made a movie about thier lives together... TO have a love that strong & then lose it at such a young age ..what more can I say?......
A beautiful memory! Sandra Dee was so delightful. I have seen in previous films. Bobby Darin I know better from his great songs. Unfortunately he is no more.
Thank you for that presentation.

The actress I see here is Sandra Dee, she is well-known. But I didn't know his husband, Bobby Darin. Sure, he must have been a great singer and his style is very charming, it's similar to Sinatra's. This kind of music is wonderful, I wish it was played more often. We need more singers like Bobby Darin, Sinatra, Dean Martin and Nat King Cole. You know people who could actually sing and had terrific music to accompany the lyrics.
The Belgian singer Helmut Lotti is pretty good. He might be European, so he sings in foreign languages sometimes, but he's still better than all the crap we have today. Much better than Michael Buble anyway. Look him up on YouTube, it's worth it.
@housesell I know exactly what you mean..it seems like honey & butter now...so many years later...BOBBY D...is simply amazing ..what he did in his short life...talent, determination, and simple hard work.

Yeah, Baby! Bobby Darin truly was the King of Swing!
After I saw the musical "Beyond the Sea", I knew why he was special. He and Sandra truly loved each other despite all of the pitfalls. He was an outspoken civil rights and peace activist and a musical genius.
Too bad he died so young, I would have loved to meet him. I sang "Mack the Knife" as a solo in high school; even then I appreciated his sound and style. Thanks for the vid, Sweetie! ;)
Don't waste your time fighting with people who go on line to attack the singers you enjoy. They have nothing better to do with their time. It's a pity. I love Bobby Darin. It's his loss. I engaged in this type of sparring with a Celine Dion hater--it took about 10 e-mails to part on good terms, but I lost the love of the music in the midst of fighting. I've gotten my passion for listening to her back now. Why bother falling prey to him. Enjoy the power of great music instead!
Thank you Perrygodmother! Don't know why anyone would come on here to attack fans of someone they don't like. I'm cracking up and pounding my keyboard. Ha!Ha! & Ha!Ha! You Go RetroSuperPrimoBravo Girl. I once told a guy who hated my favorite singer that he promoted her career with all of his hateful, oozing sentiment. It reinforces how true fans really feel! He never e-mailed me back. Thank God! I can listen to Celine Dion in peace now even though I told him to take care and I think I meant it. I just don't care for his kind of music anymore than he did for mine.
Thank you 124bjw! I agree...the real question is, if you claim to hate someone so much, then why are you watching the videos/leaving so many comments? Kinda makes a person wonder...
After reading, just a few comments. Great song and pics. They were very much in love in the beginning, but both had their demons and time and circumstances took their toll. Sandy was alcoholic and anorexic. Bobby was fighting for his career and his life with each performance, and it shows, he brings it everytime he hits that stage. His "awakening" came after death of RFK, when he changed completely.
I'm just so glad he has been "reborn" due to technology, he would have loved that.
Bobby Darin & Sandra Dee were so much in love. Two beautiful & tallented people. I miss this lovable couple. Sandra Dee never remarried since they separated. Maybe, they're in heaven together. May God bless their souls.
hi everyone i am 27 and i am about to get married next year - i love this song and wants to use it for my wedding day but i dont have the words or the instrumentals for this song. can anyone help please. thank you much
This just takes your breath away, bless both Bobby and Sandy. Their son Dodd Darin's book is "Dream Lovers: The Magnificent Shattered Lives of Bobby Darin and Sandra Dee". It is a fantastic read. Sandy co-operated on the book with her son and she was brutally honest. Sandy and Bobby both had enormous courage.
Woow..THAT's A GOOD SONG!!...you get a smile on your face and your body starts to get into the rhythm of that swinging tune...love it! Thanks 4 sharing!!
"TLAGT"..am convinced by now that you are absolutely ignorant about music. There is no comparison between recording in a studio , with may musicians, arrangements, etc., and doing a concert with a trio that allows one to be more flexible. I have the CD "Ella In Berlin." NO ONE can compare the two. Bobby's was the ultimate rendition of a studio recording. Ella's was equally the same in a "live" concert. What do you mean by "bubble-gumming do-wop? You even mispelled "doo"-wop.
Apparently, you have never seen (a live performance), or met Bobby. One of the warmest, sensitive, compassionate human beings that I have EVER known or met.
Bobby fell in love with Sandy, yes....but he had ants in his pants in his career and his love life....he detested the status quo, and Sandy became just that to Bobby. She also bored him intellectually, and that is cancer to any mairraige....thye did what Hollywood couples do... they split.......I'm sure that they both maintained affection for each other until the end. You always respect the mother of your child, and Bobby mostly did.
The gospel is the good news of God's grace, or favour, by which man may be released from the condemnation of sin(guilt), and enabled to render acceptable obedience to the law.
Yeah, but after that it became Alexandra Douvan, her step-father's name. He adopted her and later it became Alexandra/Sandra Zuck-Douvan-Dee-Cassotto-Darin. Talk about having allot of aliases.
It was not a "Hollywood arrangement", he romanced her in Italy while they were making "Come September". Both of them had problems, sure. Yes he loved Connie, but he loved Sandra too. He used to stay overnight with Sandra at the house even after the divorce. Sandra herself said that Bobby was the only man she ever loved. You might want to read their son's book.
@Muirmaiden You are right. Both Bobby and Sandra were inperfact but that applies to us ALL. They loved each other to the end but sometimes personal demmons keep you from being able to live with each other, that dosent stop you from loveing them. Life , love and marriage is not always as easey or cut and dry as we think it should be
Darin and Sinatra were both awesome talents. Darin didn't get much of a chance to "chart" because he passed so young, but he was every bit as talented as Sinatra.
Sinatra was overrated with a flat voice and no songwriting skills. Bobby Darin wrote several songs AND he had range AND he could play a variety of musical instruments. He was far more talented than Sinatra.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Pffft. Sinatra charted in 6 different decades. Hell, Darin didn't even LIVE 6 decades.
Sinatra's staying power is unique and will never be duplicated. It is a testament to his creative genius and ability to adapt over time. Darin was a bubble-gum doo wopper, complete garbage.
Darin completed more in 37 years of life than most performers do over a much longer lifetime. He was not just a "bubble-gum doo wopper" - do your research. He wrote and performed songs in the genres of country, gospel, folk, pop, and swing music. He even raps on "Me and Mr. Hohner." I will say this about Sinatra - he was a good actor, a better actor IMHO than a singer, but for my listening pleasure he can't touch Bobby.
Mack the Knife was one of his biggest selling singles, and it was not a bubble gum doo wopper song. Speaking of genres, he insisted on recording it at a time when rock and roll dominated the music scene, because he wanted to reach a wider audience than just the teenyboppers.
I agree. I like Sinatra too but to compare their talent...Darin's talent is clearly far broader in scope. Not only did he write. I think he wrote some of the most memorable pop/now jazz standards ever written. The lyrics were often as good as the melody. "More" for example to me has such meaningful and sweet lyrics. I first heard it as a kid at my Aunt and Uncles wedding and knew what a special song it was because the melody&lyric just grabbed hold of the heart and soul.
I think that's great! Don't listen to this creep TLAGT who has nothing better to do but to come on here and waste his time bashing Darin and his fans. I don't get it. I don't go on the videos of people I don't care for to bash and criticize.
@GoRetroGirl I so agree. I NEVER go to a video of a singer or actor I am not a fan of or at lest respect them and thier talent. I love all types of music and think all good singer regardless of style have something to offer. To have a bad heart and do all the things Bobby did do in a short time, at lest respect him for that if nothing else. Personal I think he was a wonderful singer. I think Bobby and Sandra are in Heaven together finely problem free and happy together
Darin is not stepping away from any coffin - he donated his body for medical research. Frank and Bobby are both two great Italian-Anerican singers according to their peers.
I just saw the Kevin Spacy Movie Beyond the Sea about Bobby Darrin, it was great I rememberd all thoes old songs but did not know they were all Bobby Darrin, so sad he died at 37
Bobby had damaged heart valves due to contracting rheumatic fever several times as`a child. He had lifelong heart problems and performed for years with an oxygen tank nearby. He was bedridden for weeks before he died after his second surgery to repair the damaged valves. RIP Bob.
Bobby and Sandra are truly one of the greatest romantic lovers ever and in the few movies they made together or when any one see pictures of them one can see that and the true fact is they never stop loveing each other when they ended their marriage is proof of great love that they had.
Chopard111.......Bobby essentially was a dead man before he even got started. He had Rheumatic fever as a young 6 or 7 year old kid, which damaged his heart. In those days, the early 40's, there wasn't much to reverse what damage was done. He was simply not going to live a long life. He knew this, and thus started his quest to make his musical mark earlier than other performers. He made it to 37, and left us as arguably the greatest live entertainer, at the top of his game, in USA history.
the good ol days,im only 40 but i would go back and live in the 50s and 60s any day,i feel bad for people growing up these days, the music sucks and people in general suck, bobby darin was awesome, left too young.

I hope these two beautiful and talented souls are romping somewhere now just as they did then so delightfully.

"TLAG," WHAT??? Are wearing ear-plugs and blinders?????
Tony7840 2 years ago
Both actually. I was forced to after being traumatized by darins voice.
TLAGT 2 years ago
"TLAGT"..am convinced by now that you are absolutely ignorant about music. There is no comparison between recording in a studio , with may musicians, arrangements, etc., and doing a concert with a trio that allows one to be more flexible. I have the CD "Ella In Berlin." NO ONE can compare the two. Bobby's was the ultimate rendition of a studio recording. Ella's was equally the same in a "live" concert. What do you mean by "bubble-gumming do-wop? You even mispelled "doo"-wop.

Agree with you, Bobby got bored with just about everybody........he was a very talented guy, but not much of a Human Being.
LuckyFilly 2 years ago
"LuckyFilly,"
Apparently, you have never seen (a live performance), or met Bobby. One of the warmest, sensitive, compassionate human beings that I have EVER known or met.
Tony7840 2 years ago 3
Bobby fell in love with Sandy, yes....but he had ants in his pants in his career and his love life....he detested the status quo, and Sandy became just that to Bobby. She also bored him intellectually, and that is cancer to any mairraige....thye did what Hollywood couples do... they split.......I'm sure that they both maintained affection for each other until the end. You always respect the mother of your child, and Bobby mostly did.

The gospel is the good news of God's grace, or favour, by which man may be released from the condemnation of sin(guilt), and enabled to render acceptable obedience to the law.

but to all of us fans who loved and still love her, she will always be the beautiful Sandra Dee.
LuckyFilly 2 years ago
Yeah, but after that it became Alexandra Douvan, her step-father's name. He adopted her and later it became Alexandra/Sandra Zuck-Douvan-Dee-Cassotto-Darin. Talk about having allot of aliases.

interesting fact about sandre dee, her real last name is Zuck, but she changed it for the movies. love bobby darin great man great voice.

He doesn't even look happy with her. It was probably a Hollywood arrangement. He was in love with Connie Francis way before he liked Sandra Dee
kls1013 3 years ago
It was not a "Hollywood arrangement", he romanced her in Italy while they were making "Come September". Both of them had problems, sure. Yes he loved Connie, but he loved Sandra too. He used to stay overnight with Sandra at the house even after the divorce. Sandra herself said that Bobby was the only man she ever loved. You might want to read their son's book.
Muirmaiden 3 years ago
@Muirmaiden You are right. Both Bobby and Sandra were inperfact but that applies to us ALL. They loved each other to the end but sometimes personal demmons keep you from being able to live with each other, that dosent stop you from loveing them. Life , love and marriage is not always as easey or cut and dry as we think it should be

Darin and Sinatra were both awesome talents. Darin didn't get much of a chance to "chart" because he passed so young, but he was every bit as talented as Sinatra.
dichambers 3 years ago 5
Dichambers,
Fortunately, Bobby had his shares of "chart" hits, despite his short life. More talented than Sinatra, Davis Jr., etc.
Tony7840 2 years ago
its not supposed to be in my favorites but it is
meloveswords 3 years ago
Sinatra was overrated with a flat voice and no songwriting skills. Bobby Darin wrote several songs AND he had range AND he could play a variety of musical instruments. He was far more talented than Sinatra.
GoRetroGirl 3 years ago 2

TLAGT 3 years ago
Darin completed more in 37 years of life than most performers do over a much longer lifetime. He was not just a "bubble-gum doo wopper" - do your research. He wrote and performed songs in the genres of country, gospel, folk, pop, and swing music. He even raps on "Me and Mr. Hohner." I will say this about Sinatra - he was a good actor, a better actor IMHO than a singer, but for my listening pleasure he can't touch Bobby.
GoRetroGirl 3 years ago 4
Anyone can claim to write any type of music that's a fact. But is the music relevant to the genre? We'll let the record sales decide.
bd's sales say "bubble gum doo wopper".
TLAGT 3 years ago
Mack the Knife was one of his biggest selling singles, and it was not a bubble gum doo wopper song. Speaking of genres, he insisted on recording it at a time when rock and roll dominated the music scene, because he wanted to reach a wider audience than just the teenyboppers.
GoRetroGirl 3 years ago 2
@GoRetroGirl
I first heard it as a kid at my Aunt and Uncles wedding and knew what a special song it was because the melody&lyric just grabbed hold of the heart and soul.
musicalala 1 year ago 4
Why can't we just respect all singers for their talent(s) instead of bashing one to promote the other?
Stunatra 3 years ago 7
"GoRetroGirl," On the contrary, Sinatra and Ella had perfect pitch, range and musicianship. Bobby had ALL of those skills and many MORE......
Tony7840 2 years ago
I agree. Man what a talent &. I grew up listening to heavy metal.
HarleyjXXX 2 years ago
I think that's great! Don't listen to this creep TLAGT who has nothing better to do but to come on here and waste his time bashing Darin and his fans. I don't get it. I don't go on the videos of people I don't care for to bash and criticize.
GoRetroGirl 2 years ago
@GoRetroGirl I so agree. I NEVER go to a video of a singer or actor I am not a fan of or at lest respect them and thier talent. I love all types of music and think all good singer regardless of style have something to offer. To have a bad heart and do all the things Bobby did do in a short time, at lest respect him for that if nothing else. Personal I think he was a wonderful singer. I think Bobby and Sandra are in Heaven together finely problem free and happy together
gibbdreamer 1 year ago
Tony, I think you got my message mixed up. It was TLAGT who was saying Ella and Sinatra were more talented. I was disagreeing with him.

Someone said their marriage probably wasn't all that
great since they divorced. This is true. Sandra was
awfully young, she was only 16 when they met, and
they were so different, she a loner and he so outgoing
and career-focused. She wanted him to herself and wasn't supportive of his career. They did love each other but
they weren't truly compatible.
Fantastic song and he does it great, there is no one like Bobby!

They made a very lovely couple. Bobby & Sandra are dearly missed. =)~
Persephonie22 3 years ago 2
Chopard111.......Bobby essentially was a dead man before he even got started. He had Rheumatic fever as a young 6 or 7 year old kid, which damaged his heart. In those days, the early 40's, there wasn't much to reverse what damage was done. He was simply not going to live a long life. He knew this, and thus started his quest to make his musical mark earlier than other performers. He made it to 37, and left us as arguably the greatest live entertainer, at the top of his game, in USA history.
