  • 4:05 Good lord, he looks like an Oompa Loompa!

  • Who else is here from NSCC Marketing class doing this for extra credit?

  • we had alot of apple macintosh computers on school back in the early 90,s

  • Hmpf. Macintosh wasn't speaking. It was dubbed by Stephen Hawking!

  • We can all have a giggle now, but at the time there was literally nothing like that in the market place. IBM was still on DOS 3 i thiink and 8 8bit graphics and while I think Commodore 64 came a little later, it was nothing like this.. this was amazing..

I'm always amused about how "people whinge about technology being too slow or too big today.. If you were around when the Mac came out..you too will understand what i mean..

  • holy shit its just a computer chill the fuck out

  • @Bahzad23 lol idiot.. back then computers were just starting to take off...it WAS a big deal, muppet

  • ?is it just me or he looks a bit like Ashton Kutcher

I dont know... but Steve reminded me of Ash, at the secont i saw is young pic! O__O

  • "Unsanely"?

  • @miburosh It said Insanely.

  • My IA teacher knew Steve Jobs, apperentaly, he had one of the second Macintoshes

  • My quad core 17'Acer Aspire, with 4G DDR3 & ATI discret 256mb video... just farted.

  • @RickmanSlickman Acer laptops suck in general, and a quad core windows runs the same as a dual core i5 in mac computers..'

  • @MrAntec900

ALL laptops suck in general, with a few exceptions of course. For the price i paid for it, for the time i got it, it was well worth it. Also alot of duo cores can be unlocked to run at quad speeds, not just for mac, for Windows to.

  • Here's a very reliant video to old Macs. watch?v=vmE5yejBsfc

  • imagine if they were be doing same thing these days.... what would be reaction of public ?? lools

  • @3:30

the original concept of siri lol or dragon text to speech

  • 3:28 it's steve hawkin !

  • Thumbs up if you own a Mac :D

  • Comment removed

  • there was no reason even in 1984 for computers to be so ugly lol but good video

  • I don't think the old computers were any more ugly than today's black boxes. I still think my Commodore 128 and Amiga were some of the "cutest" computers ever made

    .

  • At the round of applause, they knew this man changed the modern world forever, much still to be proven. God Bless the late Steve Jobs and love to his entire family.

  • Not hardly. The Mac cost $3000 which was about 10 times more than the competition cost (200 to 300 dollars). They barely sold any units versus the 30 million Commodore 64s sold and 5 million Atari 800s sold. The Mac 128/512 sold a few thousand units

    .

While the Mac introduced the GUI, it lacked the 4000 color multimedia display, near-CD quality sound, and preemptive multitasking that the Commodore Amiga had when released in 1985. The PC & Mac took over a decade to catchup

    .

  • @harleykman This is the problem with some people. You assumed that the people I mentioned applauding, thought that, witnessing the Mac demonstrated in this clip. No, unlike some, I'm sure they were looking 'forward'... and THAT is how they knew.

  • @harleykman Your just a Mac hater. Mac revolutionized the Personal Computer. I don't see Bill Gates doing that.

  • @ijared97 Wow, you actually think Bill Gates didn't revolutionize the personal computer? You obviously know nothing about computers AT ALL.

  • ashton kutcher

  • OMG I WANT ONE NOW!!!!

  • He's beaming with pride and I don't blame him. This was an incredible leap in technology. At the time an IBM desktop computer truly took up a whole desktop and didn't have near the capability. Yes I am old enough to remember that. PC user here but I still respect his and Wozniak's brilliance.

  • i think these ppls heads wouldve exploded if they saw Battlefield 3 running on max @ 1080p lol

  • Wow, that commercial was so great, that I actually want that computer, now, in 2012 XD. I'm currently reading the Steve Jobs Biography by Walter Isaacson, so it is very interesting to see what actually happened. That must be Steve's Reality Distortion Field taking effect and hypnotizing everyone who watches.

  • RIP Steve jobs

  • @DrakrSlyr I'm a PC, and I love Apple products.

  • @superpoop899 a pc cant type :D

  • @icekillez *facepalm* They can, actually.

  • Steve jobs at Microsoft

  • and we all lived happily ever after

  • About 105 dislikes are stuck in the '50s.

  • man, back in the day aye??? :L

  • can anyone else hear that high pitch :OOO or am i just paranoid

  • My 1982 Commodore 64 had speech synthesis, *color* graphics, and a built in synth that could have actually played the Vangelis music they played in the background here. Too bad Commodore was such a screwed up company and missed the mark on putting together a package like Apple did with the mac. It would have been nice to see them and Apple go head to head for longer.

  • I AM SO GETTING THIS WHEN IT COMES OUT :D

  • All in dat bag.... lol

  • Think of how great technology we have nowadays, and it's only appreciated for one or two months.

  • That ringing noise!!!! AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!

  • WHAT A MOMENT IN U.S. HISTORY OF GREAT INVENTORS!....why did I throw away that 1984 Mac!! It would have made a great conversation starter....:(

  • Shut up and take my money!

  • Steve, the father of the mac

  • wow young steve jobs is handsome, and i'm a guy...

  • Wow, steve jobs just made me want that, NOW!

  • We meet again 240p

  • i still have one of these, I'm still impressed with it

  • Comment removed

  • I'm on an Acer and I even envy this

  • And Apple stole most likely over the half of the technology from Commodore and Atari :P

  • Apple rocks :) Thumbs up for Beauty queen iMac and awesome Macbook Pro :D

  • macintosh.O

  • Windows 7 is good, but never like mac.

  • @HenshingYo i know , windiws can never reach the standards of mac ( i use windows ,...not for long though)

although it's interesting how much work was done by microsoft in the making of the first mac

  • i don't think it can get any better then that. not the computer. The Inventor.

  • STOP REPRODUCING PEOPLE! PEOPLE ARE SICK AND EVIL! FUCK THIS GREEDY ASS WORLD!

  • this is truly epic, in the purest sense

  • I teared up a bit at 1:40

    great guy he was

  • Pure Epic.

Yet, there are still to date 101 mentally challenged, brain damaged monkeys that thought this was not interesting...

  • RIP Sir!

  • this is so epic

  • Always blows me away to see how much and how fast technology I've been using has evolved. And what a good-looking young man he was! I haven't watched much t.v. since All in the Family was first-run.

  • That's the longest applause I have seen in a long time. Well deserved too.

  • Really cool.

  • did anyone see that at the end him crying of joy

    he truly was amazing

  • Im watching this on my 20 in imac and like wow that screen was sooo small.

  • I'd love to walk into that theatre with my iPhone 4S and Macbook Air lol!

  • f-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c. stop steve we missed you!

  • 101 people are PC's.

  • @DrakrSlyr So true

  • I'm so sorry. Please forgive me.

  • The Macintosh computer really caught my imagination. It made me feel stupid when I introduced Windows since I basically copied it.I really wanted one back then, but then I would look as if I was betraying my own company. I shall never let anything like that happen aggaaaaaaiiine.

I hate the Mac, I hate it, hate it, hate it.

  • 100 people are Apple haters. :(

  • It's amazing how technology has changed in 28 years. Everyone starts freaking out when the macintosh displays big red letters, scrolling across the screen!

  • @BrandonWatson19 tbh it was rather amazing they pulled that off. With most stuff done in hardware on the PARC Star, Apple did such tight coding that almost all the functions (screen drawing/etc..) were all done in software. It was a rather magnificent piece of mix of art, hardware hackery, and software genius. At that time, I think they were the smartest and probably the best corporate hackers there were. Sadly Burrel developed schizophrenia and it progressed really bad. That guy was awesome

  • @coius Cool. I hope you didn't think that what I said was mocking it or anything, but yeah, I totally agree with you. It would have been amazing back then. Now with software like that coming pre-loaded onto every computer made these days, it's really easy to take that sort of thing for granted.

  • wow, that was something... what a legend!

  • bieber xDD

  • @spore637 Name of the theme: Chariots of Fire. Was composed for an old film (early 80's) with the same name.

  • @eatingcatshit

Surprising you think that when you never met me in person. You must be immature yourself that you make accusation when acting like a pretentious jerk. Look at what you said and see the who ass is? I may not have liked steve J's assholeness but I do have to say, he could polish a turd and sell it to the public. Maybe you should examine how you act before judging others. Failing that, maybe you should learn how to act in society or remove yourself. Darwin away maybe?

  • @spore637, it's' typical for someone who likes apple products to be so young they couldn't name that song. Figures.. (now you'll claim you don't like it, figures too)

  • Comment removed

  • @eatingcatshit Thanks, coz I'm not from USA.

  • What a crappy computer. It's' funny how everyone knew that, and it failed to sell. But now that the ipod, iphone and ipad took off, and jobs is now passed away, suddenly it's all good, lol.

  • @BALUFOC, what a delusional idiot you are. Just being crass like jobs would so you understand.

  • the original Macintosh had an illegitimate daughter named Siri

  • Steve Jobs is dead. Just letting everyone know.

  • @uenragedbro retard

  • @uenragedbro, thank you.

  • "Yet only very few people have actually seen it." Over a million views. Damn, apple lovers started lying ever since 1984..

  • 97 people trust a computer they can't lift!

  • had this been released yesterday, everyone would want it

  • @chez3makr Too true! People will never get the real picture of a product wherever a marketing department is involved. And the day after this video, it HAD been released yesterday! And everyone was shitting themselves to buy one.

  • @chez3makr People still do want these

  • its funnywhena mac talked

  • if i could go back in time to any time and place, it would be this presentation

  • he went from "that bag" to "that envelope" in just 25 years. Pretty impressive

  • The suit looks tacky. I prefer him presenting Apple products with that black turtleneck on.

  • What a historic moment!

  • That is actually a program called VOICEOVER. It is on the Macintosh computers we use today.

  • @MrTyler8782, only idiots, the delusional and the truly uninformed use macs for their home computers.

  • qwop theme song? the fk

  • bill gates got 95 accounts and disliked this video

  • @nachomolina9, I got the 100th dislike. The video sucked.

  • wow amazing

  • and thus the start of a great scheme that would exploit our money just based on how a product looks and is portrayed to us.

  • what in happened in 2004 to "lose" the tapes?

  • i get excited every time I see it

  • 1984 version of Siri ;)

  • glory days of times new roman font

  • Kevin Flint???

  • I have been reading the steve jobs biography (I used to be an apple zealot and i have steve, but I do admire him for the drive and the ability to push his team to the max) but it surprises me this fragile man (I mean emotionally) completed so much in his life. I applaud him, even if he was an absolute dick to others around him, he got results and pushed people to the limits to make the impossible happen. Kudos steve. you may have been hated, but you did a damn good job in computing history

  • @coius, that's because you're an ass hole. Anyone who applauds a dick must be a hole, especially for not grasping that had he not been a dick, he might have achieved more,.. Like a more useful computer.

  • I'm glad computers aren't like that anymore.

We've come a long way in 27 years.

  • can you believe it? The world is changing at a lightening speed. Thank you Steve, we miss you!

  • @aliciaqu, only the youngest, itards say such stupid things.

  • rip

  • 94 people are your typical anti-capitalists.

  • @emmthreejonny Yeah, those people MUST be stalinists who approve of gulags and kim jong il!!! ±_±

  • @emmthreejonny Yeah, some people just seem to not like what's popular just because it's popular. Personally, if something's good, I'll use it. I don't much consider what other people do.

  • Genio !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 94 people still use the 1984 mac !

  • @kama437 no, they are just Windows fans...

  • @900GTi lol....kk

  • @900GTi, which also include mac users you idiot.

  • luckly i was born in 1995 and did not have to see this crap

  • @deniz11muis1 This is where it all started. without this you wouldn't have what you have. u selfish piece of shit.

  • Xerox Star

  • Steve jobs book send me here, RIP steve jobs!!! >_<

  • @Gouki6669 me too

  • @Gouki6669 yes steve jobs is dead trlololololo

  • RIP

  • I remember the "Age of Technology and Inventions". What ever happened to creativity now? Just upgraded versions of what was invented.

  • yeah read the bio, brilliant to see it come to life!

  • whats the name of the song plzz

  • @DPCB01 Chariots of Fire MOVIE theme song by Vangelis.

  • even the 1984 mac starts up faster than my 2007 PC AMAZING.

  • I came here after reading Steve Jobs' bio. It's very cool to see what the book describes. What a time that was. Jobs was the ultimate product launch artist.

  • I love you 240p :)

  • At 2:16. Is that the program called "Storyboard" ?

  • @TheDigitalStone That's MacPaint 1.0.

  • @5star555555555 Oh alright thanks. Then i'm confusing it with a more begin 90's program.

  • @5star555555555, which had less features than microsoft paint..

  • wow see this is most amazing if you've read the biography!

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks Steve, we love you.

  • Macintosh

    - insanely great!

  • IT was the time to buy Apple Shares ...

  • funny 1984, wonder if theres any connection to orwells writing, probably just a coincidence ;)

  • @midnightrider245 the super bowl commercial in 1984 was a spoof of the movie, go watch it, just type in1984 apple commercial.
