I think you added a little too much oil on the barrel there bud... did that before to keep a gun in for long term storage. forgot to wipe it down before shooting and half way between 3 mags the barrel began smoking like crazy. Also stopped using chain oil after that.
@ShootTits Of course they're legal. They're not on the handgun roster, though, so you can't buy one new unless you're law enforcement. Also, they have a 30-round mag, which is illegal to import or sell here, so you have to find a source for 10-round ones if you can find someone willing to sell you a pistol.

I read an ad for pmr30 in shooting times and tried to order it but it is NOT AVAILABLE anywhere. This is false advertising. All gunshops I contacted have discontinues this pistol over 1 year ago! I would like to own this pistol but do not want to wait a year before I can buy it!

@fibreman56303 kel-tec had several recalls on the pistol due to mechanical issues, so they stopped shipments for several months, but i just checked up on the latest update on kel-tec's website, and they have fixed everything and have resumed production and shipments...no more keyholing barrels due to and inaccurate rate of twist....
@Hiluxtaco You can buy high capacity for about any of them and some people are welding some together. I know for the P22 you can get a 45 shot factory. I really don't see the need in it though (I own a P22 too).

Anywho...it is possible to shoot much faster if you don't waste time by taking your finger off the trigger. There's never an excuse to let one's finger off the trigger while shooting; keeping it in contact with the trigger is both faster and more accurate. Taking advantage of a trigger's reset settings can be very helpful. Just making a comment based on years of experience here, FWIW.

so far the CCI maxi mags are the best rounds for this gun.most 22 mag rounds have a slow burning powder designed for a long rifle barrel so the velocity in a pistol isn't as good as it should be.i think kel tec claims 1230fps with regular ammo.the CCIs do about 1680 from a 6in barrel so it should still do about 1500-1500 from it's 4.3 barrel
@osp80 is that a 6" revolver barrel? if so id think the pmr-30 could match or defeat that velocity without the bullet having to jump from the cylinder and lose preasure, but even at 1500, its producing 198 ft-lbs of energy, putting it about on par with standard velocity .38 special rounds, except you get 5 times as many with a lighter trigger pull, and given the reliability of CCI rimfire ammunition, id say this could make a very effective defensive weapon if used correctly.
@lawsturner a 6in AMT automag.yeah,even if it's only as powerful as standard .380 or .38spl rounds you get 30.the kel tel doesn't have a double stack mag,it has two separated single stacks in the magazine that feed offset from one another to get around the feed problems a double stack would have with rimmed ammo
First, that looks like quite a bit of recoil, so I hope the resulting power is worth the recoil.
Second, All of that smoke coming out of the front of the gun from 0:15 onwards would concern me. I would be comforted greatly if the smoke was merely getting caught around the barrel, though such carbon would certainly foul at least the inside of the slide after only a few magazines. Here's to hoping this is not a feature.
@orthzar it's the lubricant burning off, like theorigionalOSOK stated. the barrel heats up quickly, and firing 30 rounds through it may get it up to nearly 500 degrees, so dont touch the barrel at all on any handgun while at the range, especially this one.
also the recoil is worth it, in a rifle it gets 322 foot pounds, at 2200fps, in a pistol it'll get about 204 foot pounds, about like the hottest .22lr loads available would be like in a full sized rifle
