More likely than not if the defense is actually smart they won't commit to that pump fake unless they're desperate so all you're going to be left with is getting stripped, rejected or pass it out
ok first of all, i dont know why i looked up this shit. I already know how to do it, and anybody who goes to youtube to learn how to play basketball is a joke
actually what separates good post players from the rest is your left hand...and as you saw the dude had to use his right hand for a wide open layup..?
You wouldn't even have to power dribble- most coaches would only want you to do the power dribble when you have to. So really the power dribble isn't needed.
power dribbling slows down your momentum he got most of it correct but power dribbling would slow you down cuz they wont jump that far or help will come and u got another defender on you
why would they dribble after faking? he can just move the free foot towards the basket, leap and bank the easy shot. It's pretty much impossible to miss at paint range
yee this is good but you muss have good position to fake the guard that you can shoot otherwise if you try to fake him from your pocket:D or non buildet position he will stay in place
sean hopsen needs to shut the fuck up. this move is good but he fuckin thinks that he knows everything. he teaches football as well. expert village thinks they know every shit.
I think you shut up. Yes this is indeed a good move for basketball. Expert village indeed knows almost every shit on planet earth but they are just there to teach on fundamentals, i mean real fundamentals. Thats why their videos are normally for those who have 0% knowledge abt the thing that they are looking at. Expert village is there to teach those that have absolutely no knowledge on basketball, soccer etc. something so they can get going and at least practice something.
its just the fake... they didnt show anything for sure. Guards can fake the shot but they do not power dribble, they take 1 or more dribbles and they can drive to the basket or make midrange jumper. The only reason is place on the court. Gurads do that beyond the 3pt arc.
I used this move one time in a game and the coach is really right. The defender immediately jumped at me in an attempt to block the shot. The secret is practicing in-front-of a mirror with winter gloves on. Using a mirror will let you work on your facial expressions and body language. The gloves will give you soft hands and make you squeeze the ball between your fingers.
if you don't think this is a good move and is effective, i guess you have never seen hakeem play....

@BboyBRad07 its different in the post up, u cant give them a basket as close as that without jumping a little, but this coach looks kind of retarded
gatman1995 1 year ago
@BboyBRad07 And yet at all levels, defenders routinely get burned by leaving their feet.

I have a question. If you do that move on top of the key, then can you drive to the rim instead of using your dropstep?
eLdeRicKooooooooooo 2 years ago
Technically, yes. But why would you be posting up at the top of the key? Defenders would just back up instead of playing you tight.
mightyPants 2 years ago
Well someone would be guarding me. And what if I am a shooter?
eLdeRicKooooooooooo 2 years ago
even if it works, help defense is bound to get in the way
AbdulRasulK 2 years ago
ye but if the defence is sleeping in the low post this is one of the best move that u can do^^
RiCoavatar 2 years ago
@AbdulRasulK doubtful, it's a one on one move that if done right, the defense won't have time to help.

JakiM333 2 years ago
I've always found a shot-fake (pump fake) only works if you can shoot and the defender KNOWS you can shoot. Otherwise they're not going anywhere...
MrChug 2 years ago
what if the defeneder does not jump, what will he do?
MrPhobal 2 years ago
If the defender does not jump out then you have a clear path to the hoop
doran184 2 years ago
If the defender didn't jump you don't use the one dribble, so you can still have your pivot foot and move around.
