  • Thank you

  • Can anybody tell the difference between this pedal and the new one 2011 edition

  • @jessysangiorgio The only difference is the style of the graphic. This was the older style, done with a "sticker", these days the graphics are printed directly onto the casing :)

  • Tuning. It helps

  • This pedal sounds great as is but... instead of the fuzz side of things I'd like that switch to A/B between modern and vintage and maybe have a separate mid control for each setting. So, first switch is on/off second vintage/modern. it would be like having a couple of Mesa Dual Rec channels. If it could have to gain stages then it would truly be a 2 channel preamp giving any clean amp 3 channels total.

  • @wampcat Do you know what type of mains adapter can be used with the Triple Wreck? i have heard ANY boss pedal adapter will work fine, do you have any other recommendations? (except the onespot, as i live in the UK and it costs quite a lot here) Thanks

  • @BreakerOfTheFace Any 9v DC (centre negative) will work fine. BOSS will do the trick, as will a 1SPOT or Godlyke. What you need to do is ensuire that the mA output of the adaptor will be enough to cover your chain which is why the 1SPOT works well. I have 10 units in my chain and the 1SPOT powers them all. I personally think that it's worth paying the extra to ensure that you get a good, reliable and clean level of power into your units. The triple wreck draws 23mA, quite alot for a dirt box...

  • Brian, love the pedals, starting my collection next week. I sent an email (except I use hotmail) asking about detuning and string gauge on the pedals. Can I expect the drives and high gains to still work well on Eb or lower D with heavier strings or do you have the optimized for std tuning and usual 9-42s?

  • I have become a Wampler pedal freak !! Seriously bloody amazing pedals, I've been playing decades and it is Wampler for me from now on or nothing! Burgerman kills with vids of all these. Ordering the best drive Ecstasy OD next week and probably the Triple next mo, hard to decide on the high gains they all burn. That compressor into the chorus god what a tone and I thought I liked mt TC pedals. WAMPLER !!! Keep em coming man, you made the best of the best.

  • The one on yuor site.

  • Yeah..been playing awhile, new that. Was giving the guy in an earlier comment a heads up that asked about single coils. If a person has played any kind of time at all, gain and single coils take some work to play well together. Excellent demo BTW.

  • @rmxrider20032000 Cool :) - Glad you like it..!

  • There are a couple vids on youtube with single coils and this pedal. It sounds awesome, but it seemed every time they stopped playing it got really noisy. I liked the pedal well enough to order one.

  • @rmxrider20032000 The trouble with any high gain pedal, there will always be background noise when using single coil pickups, it's the nature of the set up unfortunately. When I use it with single coils, I find myself riding the volume control a lot to reduce it. It becomes habit after a while..!

  • After one year, this is still my main pedal.

I recently got myself a AMT SS-11B, a floor higain preamp with 2 12ax7s inside.

Triple wreck kicked its ass and said "shut up and stay in clean channel while

    I scream" .

  • honestly, I think this is more of a Nirvana, and alternative grunge sound than a 'metal' pedal. Frankly, I like it's demos better than the Pisyasquatsit which sounds more 'metal' but that's about all it will do. This doesnt have the reeking stench of the metal cliche scooped, but I'm sure you can get in that ballpark with the right pickups.

  • are these pedals expensive you know? how do you crank the pedal make it more bite, agressive tone??grtz

  • omg, if you dont mind tellin., how much did that cost

  • @uc7mr4km a lot new. 270$. go for used. this thing is a beast

  • I gotta have this !

  • i've tried this pedal today, and it is not a METAL pedal for sure.

the sound is not tight and pretty loose, above all is very bad on palm muting.

i've tried it in comparison with a cheapish zoom g2,and the zoom blew this away.

the boss metal core is better even in rock situation by lowing the gain,so imagine.

THIS IS JUST MY OPINION,so respect it as i respect yours,i just want to show another point of wiew to all interessed people.

W LA MUSICA,e non chi si arricchisce da essa

  • @kimkikki I appreciate your bravery in saying this. I've got a decent tube amp now, but I need a good distortion pedal. Most of the general stuff out there just sounds as cheap as it is. That said, I've heard a lot of pricey boutique pedals that sound too narrow or just not that much better than others. This one, though seems to have a breadth of possibilities. Of course, you're still going to have to work it. It's so hard to tell with different pickups and amps etc.

  • @kimkikki I will have to agree with you. I bought it and was not impressed with it at all, Sounded thin and didn't have all the gain they were saying it had. Wampler won't return my emails to try and return it. So, stuck with it, I will craigslist it and take a big loss on it.

  • @rmxrider20032000 We have not received an email from you about this at all. If you have a problem with one of our pedals, mail us from the contact page on our site and we will be able to help you in any way we can.

  • @wampcat I have sent from my email Yahoo, which says that your server blocks and the one from your page keeps giving me an error message.

  • @rmxrider20032000 If you can, PM me your email address and I'll get someone from service to mail you

  • I'm looking for a Van halen, Metallica heavy rock/metal all purpose high gain distortion sound..... which pedal? this or a pinnacle etc..?

  • Comment removed

  • can i use only a distortion with the wreck without the fuzz?

  • Is it enought to play some in flames/ensiferum stuff?

  • @taxo never man,is still better a boss metal core,so imagine XD

  • @taxo check out the mxr fullbore metal pedal! it's a great pedal i think for your style, agressive tone and better than a boss metalzone or boss metalcore pedal :) grtz

  • powerfull)))

  • which adapter must we used with this pedal?

  • Does it have a 9v battery compartment?

  • Way too overpriced!

  • oh ya

  • omg this is pedal sounds totaly amazing !! just wish i could afford one . well done brian , a true master piece .......

  • GREAT SOUND!!!

  • I had this but then also got a Dr Boogie DIY pedal which had more convincing mesa rectifier tone so chose to keep that instead

  • Where did you buy that Dr Boogie?

  • Comment removed

  • @strybel I googled it and found shop selling it online otherwise their impossible to find fully built. You'd need to build one yourself or find somebody that can build it

  • @Gyro911 Ok thanks. And if i'm correct you posted a comment some time ago about the AMT R1,which didn't seem to impress you much. The soundclips from AMT are very very good but the demos of it on YT are poop.

  • @strybel Yeah i wasnt impressed with the AMT, it has an amp simulated input and direct input. The amp input sounds distant like putting a cover over a speaker. The direct input sounds more straight forward but very fizzy like a busted amp. Not sure how that should be used? you may want to try it with an amps effects loop

  • @Gyro911

You liked the Dr. Boogie better than the Triple Wreck?

    Hmm..

  • @RelaxationII Hmm mean?

  • Comment removed

  • First there were only 50 Triple Recs being made. Then there were 100. Now we have the pedal in this version. Kinda de values the original people's who put the big cash up front to get the "original only 50 being made".

  • $269-$248= $21

  • I have one of the original 50.

  • I've A/B'd this pedal through both a Peavey6505+ head and a '68 Marshall Plexi, against a real Mesa 3 Rec. Myself and the owner of the Mesa thought the pedal was equally as good.

Personally, with the '68 Plexi, it sounded better than the reall thing IMO. Much clearer and not bottom ended congested.

  • If your ever read Brians books on building pedals, you'll see he has a differnt approach rather than the big guys like Boss or MXR. He mods circuits to react like tubes, not just sound like them.

  • Just ordered mine!!!

  • this pedal is dead on.

  • 269 is way to much for a pedal unless it has preamp tubes which no analog pedal can simulate the feel the guitar has with that

  • It's the size of an actual triple rectifier head!

Ok not really. And it sounds great, very triple rec. Nice job.

  • I LIKE IT!!!

  • man this one sounds sick Brian!! super Thick!!

  • will it sound the same on a bugera v22 vintage amp? cause i have rat distortion and dosent sound to well

  • I wish it was bit smaller in size....

  • i just got it. and it's not small at all. :/

  • 1:31 is qotsa tone wtf?... how?

  • Ordered mine!! Pretty Stoked!

  • Muddy!

  • just ordered it today.......damn now the wait lol

  • ...Oh, and would you say that the vintage/modern switch affects the fuzz mode as well, or does it only affect the non-boost mode?

  • Can the Boost/Fuzz switch function like a solo boost? I've been waiting for this pedal forever. I ordered 2, haha.

  • I'll be having a crack at this one in a week or so. Look for a seething, thrashing vid on my channel. :) It's about time I got to play some metal again. Yeeaghghgh!!!

  • NICE!!!!! Perfect for my situation as a studio engineer/producer! I can placate my office staff and STILL get Recto tones for my clients and me! Excellent work, Brian!

  • This reminds me a lot of my first fuzz in the 60's - a Univox SuperFuzz, original version NOT w/big square footswitch. The Univox was the most mighty fuzz on the map at that time. I don't recall what I finally did with that pedal, but I had to force myself to stop using it. It was creating issues with the band I was playing with. We were doing Stax/Motown type stuff. The Univox was way too extreme. I didn't have the chops to play without it so I had to get them the hard way - by not bringing it.

  • Sounds nice Brian . . .

What does the Boost side sound like by itself? Can you turn the fuzz down and just get a nice clean boost?

If not it'd be nice to have a Clean Boost option available (like up to 16 or 20dB) instead of Fuzz. This way you could either just boost your existing signal, or have a nice solo boost when combined with the Triple Wreck Distortion side of the pedal?

  • The Ecstasy Drive has a clean boost.

  • Brian you are the man once again!!! Keep it up! A+++++

  • Wow dude. ! Wow

  • THis is Bad ass

  • Walter Trout, Andy Timmons, check out Mesa

    's artist page

  • sounds Great,,,, I just Ordered mine,,,,lets see how it works with my set up,,,

  • Sounds great, I've asked this question before, how does it sound with a single coil equipped guitar??

  • Probably not so good. Single coils don't sound good with massive amounts of gain. Do you know any players who play single coil guitars that play through a Triple Rectifier?

  • Much of Superunknown by Soundgarden was done with Telecasters through Dual Recs.

By the way, Brian, is it just the microphone that's causing the flubbiness on the low frequencies?

  • At full gain? Highly doubt it.

  • I'd say its an overloaded camera mic.

  • I will do a video and/or soundclip with my tele and post it on the website.

    Thanks,

    Brian
