Chris Nolan said they're gonna edit the sound to make it easier for the audience to understand. So no worries, there's still 7 months until the movie's release. Plus Bane sounds sinister and diabolical. It's the first time somewhat actually portrayed Bane correctly in terms of intelligence. Excellent job Nolan.
Not gonna lie but 80% of what he was saying was unintelligible...everyone that left the theater didn't understand most of what he was saying. However, the prologue was amazing. His voice was unique and sinister, it completely threw me off. Looks like this movie can top TDK. Saw it last night, It was truly amazing. Could hear Bane's voice quite well, just need to focus a little. What a chilling voice he has! I like the like dialogue between Bane and one of his comrades as they are all about to leave the plane. It goes something like this.
Comrade: Are we leaving now?
Bane: They expect one of us to be in the crash brother.
Comrade: (without hesitation just gives the nod, committing his life for Bane) We started a fire? He says.
Bane's voice was difficult to understand, but you could make out the majority of what he said. He did have an accent, be it English or not (no such thing as a British accent), but it certainly wasn't an American accent. Regardless the prologue was absolutely breathtaking, probably the best Imax footage I've ever seen in a feature film, and the score was intense. I cannot wait for next July!

Maybe its because the the sound of the other things in imax kinda filters out banes voice and makes it more muffled but in the official new trailer his voice is way more mechanical sounding

Now they supposedly fixed it for the public release before Ghost Protocol, so she's actually right in this case. Bane is not Mexican. He WAS difficult to understand. Sure if you watched the prologue 20 times in a row and discussed the transcript on a message board/youtube you're going to figure it out, but in the midst of the movie and especially in an IMAX theater, it can definitely be a problem.

i think there using the dark knight to make money on the mission impossible movie, sorry not going to see a tom cruise movie ever again. she prolly wasnt paying attention half the time during the trailer. i'm half deaf but i can hear the theater really good, never seen in imax. but i'm sure the sound is great. i'll wait for the prolgue to hit youtube.

He WAS difficult to understand. Sure if you watched the prologue 20 times in a row and discussed the transcript on a message board/youtube you're going to figure it out, but in the midst of the movie and especially in an IMAX theater, it can definitely be a problem.

I'm an American and understood 85% of Bane's dialogue. I watched a bootleg so I'd say my percentage is really high considering the video's poor audio quality. I'm seeing it on IMAX tomorrow night.

@topeneid It's an odd voice, and the origin of the accent is debatable. He's latino in the comics, so maybe that's why he sounds that way to me. I've heard South American accents that sound similar. I understand what you're saying though. Wherever he's from, you can tell he's sophisticated.

There were only TWO Batman movies leading up to DKR (Batman Begins and Dark Knight). She made it sound like those other garbage Batman flicks directed by Burton and Schumaker are somehow associated with the Nolan flicks They are not and for good reason. Those awful films set the Batman franchise back 15 years

The only reason why you couldn't understand Bane. Is because Christoper Nolan wants his films to be spoiler free as possible. So he likes to release his plot details to be as cryptic as possible.
