  • Worthwhile video! Thanks!

  • Thanks, helped a lot! I have an Airsoft M4, but the idea is all the same :D

  • At what range are you sighting in?

  • @sbgotb67 This particular zero target is for 25 meters. It is a simulated 300 meter target. The principle is the same no matter the distance. Just follow the adjustments recommendations for the rifle or target you are using.

  • This helped me a lot, thanks man!

  • @SecularTechnology No Problem. Enjoy.

  • anyone know how your poi is affected from changeing your stance like if you zero prone how much do you have to componsate for when you stand?

  • @GUNS4MIKE1234 The poi is dependent on a number of factors. These include the quality of the weapon you are firing, the quality and consistency of the loads you use, and also a great deal on the shooting position you take. The most stable postion to zero from (other than maybe using a table/gun rest) is the prone postion with a bipod or some other rest (don't touch the barrel). After zeroing, with all other things equal it depends on how steady you are. Point of aim should remain the same...

  • @amngilbert ... since you will be using a bullet drop compensator. The whole point in a bullet drop compensator is that you don't have to guess where to aim to have a poi center mass. The best thing you can do is to assume a stable position. I would recommend using a strap to stable the weapon in kneeling /standing positions. If you are able to, go prone. If you are not, the next best thing to do is to use something to rest the gun on (a tree, a car, whatever, just don't touch the barrel itself)

  • @amngilbert So then ok lets say it's a 20 inch barrel fireing 55grain .223 at around 3260 fps and it's 0-300 yards that im fireing will point of aim and point of impact change is all I want to know and by how much, just give me a ball park estimate so I can at least get bullet on paper to figure the rest out.

  • What if the front sight is a tritium tip and i need 2 clicks? The lumo side will then face away from me. Anyone can advice on this?

  • @Stilweel Got the Nails paiting from your wife and paint in Red the front sight

  • That is the Rear Elevation knob. It reads 8/3. It is basically a bullet drop compensator for Iron sights. Say you zero your rifle at 300M. You would have done that with that knob on the 3, if you then need to engage a target at say 600m, you would put it on the 6 and it would move the rear sight up, forcing you to move the front sight up enough to be able to aim center mass and hit the target. Without this you would have to aim above the target, guessing where it might strike.

  • what's the deal with the other knob below the windage knob (on the rear sight aperture mount, the one that says 6/3 z etc)? it seems to move the rear sight up and down. do i have to wind it so the ring is all the way down low when im zeroing it at the 25 meter target? when im done calibrating it, where should it be? this is a civilian m4 carbine btw. thanks.

  • I've noticed that the M16 has a post front sight w/ a circular rear sight. Seems like it would be less accurate than a "V" rear sight as it seems one can only ballpark where the front sight is ..when it's in the middle of O-ring rear sight. How is that done? Is it just a matter of trying to place the front sight in the middle of the O-ring..or is there some reference point, for example, on conventional sights the post is level with the rear notch. Thanks in advance!

  • @Videofrigate69 You must hold your weapon the same way every time it takes practice but if you hold it the same way each and every time you will hit what you aim at every time

  • nicely done dude. thanx for the vid. its been many many years since i was in the army and a small refresher didnt hurt.

  • Really helpful video man, where can i get a scale zeroing target do you know?(for free:D)
