  • What gauge of strings and type are you using in this video?

  • 5 stars

  • Amazing sound and technique... How far up does your strat vibrato arm go? sounds like you get as much as a minor 3rd? my strat only gets a 1/2 step...i've been told that anymore ends up with tuning problems and undue pressure on the neck...

  • His tone and articulation accuracy is simply unbelievable, on this as well as other players styles. I haven't bought the DVD, but rest assured that if Michael Casswell does one on guitar tones it will go straight to the top of my wishlist.

    Amazing.

  • @licklibrary

    I am so sad!:(

I can't find jamtrack for Where Were You!:(

  • He's good. But remember who wrote these songs. HahA

  • Mike is a fantastic teacher he breaks it all down and takes time to explain everything and top draw playing on this Dvd very impressive!!!

  • Two Rivers sound like porn music. Fantastic!!!!!

  • Wow, this was an impressive endeavor.

  • Beautiful Harmonics! My heart is in the flame

  • My favourite Licklibrary teacher! He´s awesome!

  • WE NEED ANOTHER JEFF BECK DVD !!! thumbs up if u agree

  • Only just come across this - bought the DVD immediately after seeing it.

Beck is the man and Mr Casswell certainly knows what he's talking about. He's copped some of Beck's inimitable feel as well. Great job.

  • @sobellfanatic Great to hear your getting on well with the DVD! Feel free to upload yourself playing to this video!

  • @sobellfanatic So how good is this DVD for learning this style of guitar playing? Would love to hear your opinion.

  • The tone is dead on.

  • Very impressed both with the choice of material and also the playing by Michael, he certainly has the Jeff Beck style nailed, better than anyone else I have ever seen. I've been playing guitar for 40 years at a semi-pro level, gigs in clubs etc., and alwyas wanted to figure out some of that crazy stuff Jeff does. I just ordered the DVD from amazon here in Canada, looking forward to learning some new licks :)

  • Got a REALLY IMPORTANT QUESTION... is he wearing some covers on the pickups or is it some other pickups than single coils?

  • @TheMusicDude1997 They're called Lace Sensors, still single coil, but early noiseless models.

  • what kind of pickups does Mike use ? single coils with some kind of Cover on them or what ? ( i know that the JB signature has Hot noisless Single coils ) but does mike have some kind of COVER on them ??? THANK U lick library, you kick grandma ass

  • Where would you even START to transcribe a bloody song using all harmonics and the vibrato? Excellent work.

  • this dude Michael Casswell is really one of rare persons who deserve to be heared . Loads of bullcrap from those who make lessons mostly for commercial reasons , but this dude belive me everything he say is good said . No bullshit .

  • You've gotta got a serious good guitar for this.

  • @mukkezz are those single coils with some kind of cover on them ?

  • @TheMusicDude1997 They look like the Fender Lace Sensor pickups, used to be standard equipment on the top end strats a few years back. I have them on my strat ('94 strat elite)

  • @TheMusicDude1997

    they are gold lace sensors

  • Fantastic

  • micheal casswell is god.

  • dude seems cool and plays the songs very well.

  • talk about sustain !!!!

  • this guy's my guitar teacher!

  • i love jeff beck. he was my favorite at crossroads 2010.

  • Ive seen michael lets his right hand nails grow large, is this for any special reason besides harmonic use?

  • Oh, really done (copied) fantastic! But the title of video ("learn to play..") is very misleading. Michael speaks a lot but does not really explain. So you (or I) cannot learn from this video, sorry!

  • @carlolf Hi there - the dvd is called 'Learn To Play Jeff Beck' Michael is explaining what the DVD covers.

  • what pickups?

  • @MrBingping gold lace sensors

  • this thing that impresses me about beck the most is his versitility he can play blues, country, rock n roll, jazz ,fusion and all perfectly

  • the best jeff beck cover i've ever heard!!!

does somebody knows wich equipement that i need to create this wonderfull sustain tone?

    thanx a lot!!!

  • @ianofab

    sounds like

reverb pedal, compression/sustain pedal, overdrive, bit of delay

  • you got it!

  • NOOOO!! He doesn't get it!

  • I noticed this is dvd is PAL only. Are those formatted to work in the US?

  • You can play them on your PC. Just download the VLC player and use that to play the DVD.

  • Does PAL format work on DVD/Bluray players?

  • This is so worth a buy.

  • This DVD is noway fr intermediate to avanced players...............I think its for Advanced players..............

The Intial these covers area ctually scary even to watch it.....

But IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING....so anyone can play it but in practical sense I truely belive its for advaced players...

  • whats the song at the beging

  • @lguukietar

    Where Were You

  • Welldone Mike very impressed

  • god damn,he makes it looks so easy

the way he does the harmonics for where were you are amazing i still cant get the touch right and then the bends for cause we've ended as lovers are just perfect

  • are those LACE Sensor Pickups ? (all 3)

  • ya they look like it but dont get them

beck has switched over to hot noisless pups which are much much better

  • Which is better depends on who you ask, doesn't it. I find one has to make more considerations when choosing the right Sensor to go with compared to 6 slugs type P/Us. Also one has to be more precise when tweaking them. Though many prefer the enhanced cut of them that's quite easy to tone down.

  • @ScooBeeDooBeeDoo

it looks like he has a lace sensor "dually" in the bridge aswell..

  • yes he does, and its coil tapped.

  • This guy is good.

  • @adburger

    correction

    this guy is god

  • does any guitar with a whammmy bar work with the jefff beck harmonic stuff

  • This guy covers beck very well. Best I've ever heard.

  • @chillichomper Awesomeeeeeeeee

  • fantastic never enough Beck material he is top of the heap and to teach it you must be as well thanks 4 this keep it up

  • I was looking for a schematic for the Strat Ultra. It's not on the Fender site. So i suspect the those guitars are the Jeff Beck models from the early '90s. He has the same colors of vintage white, surf green, and midnight purple, as the J. Beck models. I tried one of these before I bought the Ultra, and the biggest difference is the bat-like U-shaped neck on the Beck, as opposed to the modern C-shape on the Ultra model. Gold Laces are on the Beck model and red, blue, and gold Laces on Ultra.

  • I like that he's using a Strat Ultra from the early '90s, specifically the pale lime and the lavender colored guitars in this video. I own one of these. He also uses a white Stratocaster with SCN pickups, which is more of what Jeff uses today. Those old Ultras also have locking tuners; it will never go out of tune. A 2-point tremelo helps, too. The nut is a either a wilkinson or a newer LSR roller nut. You can find most of these appointments on the Stratocaster Pro. I'm going to buy this DVD!

  • Mr.Michael Casswell has indeed 'broken the code' of the style and technique of JB. But just think, Jeff Beck was the guitar player who composed and recorded these pieces in the 1st place!!! Jeff Beck, a true original and the greatest living electric guitar player. Long Live Jeff Beck!!!!

  • very nice, very difficult to do without a jeff beck strat though, going to see him next week, can't wait.

  • does anybody know the name of the song at the start~?

  • It's called 'Where Were You' which appears on the album 'Jeff Beck's Guitar Shop'

  • thank you very much!

  • angus 320 where does he teach and how much??

  • can i have the tabs fro these please just for that little intro he plays before he talks, if someone can do that for me i would really appreciate it

  • HES MY TEACHER

  • how much doe she charge and where does e teach? would you recommend him

  • he teaches at ACM in guildford and hes a babe aha

  • awesome player!5 stars

  • Nice Shirt!!!!!!

  • Whats the point of the roller nut?

  • hes my teacher!!

  • check the nut wtf is that

  • it's an LSR roller nut, Jeff uses it on his strats and it comes standard on the Jeff Beck strat and the American Deluxe HSS Strat....

  • it's NOT the LSR, it's the old wilkinson roller nut. The LSR is garbage and will not get you the same tone or sustain. Wilkinson uses rolling bars, LSR uses rolling ball bearings, crap.

  • incredible sustain, thank god for the wilkinson nut.

  • Wow...you've internalized Beck in every way. You've got his tone, vibrato, everything. And your speech is articulate. Bravo!

  • Casswell - this is the first I've seen/heard him - is articulate in both his speech and uncannily - almost SCARY in his capturing of the incomparably tasty Jeff Beck's sound, vibrato, everything. Very impressive, glossy ad for the DVD! Bravo from a Yank!

  • nice looks like you really took your time.

  • One of the best Lick Library DVDs !

  • Wow.... this guy is awesome!

  • Looks very impressive, both this one and the one on Peter Green. I would like Casswell to do an indepth Angus Young video, were he also cover Malcolms rythmparts as accurate as possible. I think there are a lot of hidden subtleties in their playing, and a lot of songs left to be explored.

  • New hair!!!!
