@TheSammyKaye the song is called 'Samtan# by Ahmad Bukhatir, he has some great ones on Youtube with very powerful lyrics. One of his best is 'Forgive me' which is on Youtube in English. Hope that helps.

hey man nice boat can you help me as I have a difficulty if I use a normal pyl wood not mirine ply wood will it float on the sea??

Thanks man.You can use 6mm plywood as this floats fine as long as you seal it with varnish and use enamal wood paint on top. You can copy my hull and do a buoyoncy test before you add the deck,which must be made of light balsa or foam so it is not top heavy.

Thanks for the comment man,and yes I did use everyday materials as I love to recycle old bits of wood.I love to make stuff out of old scrap and unwanted toys etc.Shoul be sailing soon and will get video up too.

Sounds great, you should get started on it. Use plenty of varnish to hold it together once it is finished.

The boat took 3 weeks, and the wood was recycled venician blinds just 2 mm thick. In all the whole build took a month. Thanks for your message mate.

how long did it take you o build it ? without the details ... and how thin was the wood used to make the sides ?

In total it took 3 weeks;working each day. The details took around another week. The wood used was taken from old Venitian blinds, hence the name Venicia. Thanks for your message, hope the info helps.

Thank you very much, I really appreciate such feedback. The model seemed to take ages, but I am very impatient between coats of paint. I never actually used the finished deck, it was too clumsy in the water,so I redesigned a new one made of polystyrene. Keep the models coming!

I am looking for a good Titanic model kit, but it could be up to a year before I get the time to start such a big project.I love the ship and the story of her origin. I will keep building and sailing though.

The best way to learn is to buy a small model kit, which can cost as little as $20 and can be easy to build as it comes with full instructions. Let me know how you get on. Just google model boat kits.

Oh yes, but I never sank it myself.I was in a local park lake one day when along swam a duck; I tried to outmanouver this tricky fellow only to have it jump aboard and turn my boat upside down.I watched it float upside down for 20 minutes before it came back to shore.The radio gear was lost but the boat survived a sinking!

Thanks, I appreciate such feedback. This model was a real labour of love, seeing as it was so demanding. I have since redesigned the top deck; using a foam mould of a cruise ship. I will post the video of is sailing soon.Amazing what you can do with some wood!
