great production very clean and balanced, love the descending modulation rate bit sounds great, but i wouldn't really call this a remix you have barely any of the original song it, you've basically just sampled it as an intro and a tiny slice as a vocal sample. might as well just mix it in a set imo, if you present it this way one could think you were just trying to ride on the song title.

He probably is trying to use a very famous song to his advantage, but whatever, Butch Clancy is amazing, and to be quite frank he can do whatever the fuck he wants!

@SubExplosion it's pretty good, i haven't heard much of his other stuff, jsut stumbled upon this, listening to russian lullaby now, it's good, but i wouldn'y say it pushes boundaries, still very much "filth" dubstep/drumstep whatever you want to call it. It seems a little dubstep bandwagony to me, which is not to say it has to not be, but just personally I'd rather see someone try and make something a little different.

@bassobeats a remix by definition is to take a song and transform it into something new, whether you recreate the actual music from the song or just use the vox its the same. I chose to use some of the vocals and create something totally new. That is a remix.

I don't see how people still don't understand what a remix is and to think I was trying to use the title to get more listens is absurd, I really don't think there's a huge number of dubstep fans searching Shirley Bassey songs.

This is more what I think of as sampling, not remixing. Also while there won't be many fans searching for shirley bassey, people will notice it over some other title that no-one is familiar with, so you can't just dismiss it like that.

But as I said above, no matter what your intentions were or weren't, people will think what people will think. I stopped making heavy dubstep for that very reason cos it just got blown out of proportion and tbh it's not even really dubstep anymore, i think people are even calling it drumstep?

@Feralicousness yeah cheers but considering 2x80=160 and 2x90=180, id say i already know that, 190 is pretty damn fast for dnb imo, tho doable of course. dubstep is definitely not 100 nor is it really 140 for that matter, its composed at 140 but it's halftime so its about 70 usually. ive made some tracks at 125 and had people complain they were too slow to mix, so defs not 100. 100 is fast hip hop.

but yeah seems its basically what i assumed from the example, just slightly faster dubstep probably about 85ish at a guess. definitely not at drum n bass speed tho, as i was saying. its good tho gives it an extra push to it, didn't overly dig the pendulum rmx tho, probs cos im not the biggest fan of pendulum, i prefer stuff like koan sounds newer stuff, sounds fucking mental.
