I know there are sooo many taxis in NYC its crazy and they are vishis drivers too.The few times i've been to NYC, it was hard to cross a crosswalk with out a cab driver beeping at you or almost running you over. I swear I would take one step into the crosswalk and the cabs bumper would be right up against my leg honking at me. My Dad was like come on Mer walk, we got the crosswalk signal. You really have to be on the move in NYC.

NYC has always had bad traffic and tons of taxis. I have a book of the history of NYC and it`s got pictures of NYC in the 1920s and 1910`s with tons of traffic and even photos of the 1800`s with tons of horses and carriages and tons of taxis with drivers sitting on top of a small carriage with a whip for the horse. That kind of carriage was called a cab which is where the word "cab" comes from.

In Chicago, there's always traffic jams and they only have 2.8 million people there. No comparison when it comes to moving traffic in a big city like NY. Hell' the Port Authority Bus Terminal alone brings in 200,000 people in and out of the city virtually every day.

It use back in the 70s and part of the 80s officially white cab drivers. My dad was once a cab driver for the city. Now, everyone is Arabic, African, Albanian, Spanish, or Chinese. It was so different back in the old days.

The parking situation in LA, even where some of my relatives live, is much more brutal than NYC. Though their road is so much smoother than NYC. That surprised me. Even as a New Yorker myself that was bred in worse road condition and knew a bumpy road when I see, I was surprise as to how smooth California roads are. You might have the most cars than us, but, damn, you had more smoother roads than us. ;)

Well I dunno what the parking situation is like in LA but it's a nightmare in Manhattan, Plus being on the F.D.R Drive is enough to give you a heart attack if you're an out of towner.
