If Rick Santorum truly believed in life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, he wouldn't support the government deciding what a family should consist of or dictating how consenting adults should have sex.

Rick Santorum seems to think that those in power or a majority have the right to force their personal beliefs on everyone else. He seems to think treating gay people like everyone else means they have special privileges.
It's like supporting affirmative action and then saying you oppose discrimination.

@clarastockwell I emphatically agree! I first became aware of him when he gave his speech after the the loss of his Senate seat. His Congressional record speaks for itself. He spoke from the heart... He is a "STATESMAN". His book, "It Takes A Family" reinforced my first impression. His family is certainly one society can emulate.

You make an excellent point; a point that is not easily refuted. I suppose the question that lies at the heart r is "do the unborn have rights? And at what point in the development process are rights bestowed upon the fetus?" The only logical answer is either at conception or birth depending on your interpretation of the issue. I am pro-abortion, though I agree it is not right to deny an unborn child any recourse whatsoever. The only answer is compromise though it seems laconic.

You know Rick, I don't know how you can be for "liberty" and "freedom", but then say gay people shouldn't get married. If you're for liberty, you don't get to pick and choose who's rights you violate. You can't say, "I'm for liberty, but only if you're straight and a christian!" If you're genuinely for liberty, and understand what it truly means, then you would let everyone live freely - even if that means they do things you don't agree with.
