Never been a fan of Zakharova’s, but she’s simply lovely in this! She’s like a cat at dish of fresh cream, lapping up with relish choreography and a style of movement very new to her. She approximates Balanchinian speed and combines it with Vaganova attention to the upper body. Beautiful to watch. She needs to attempt the original fouétte-piqué-piqué sequence as danced by Verdy and seen with Farrell in the movie “The Turning Point”. Zakharova’s feet would make that step sparkle like jewels.
