  • That shit and the like is SWEET MUSIC TO MY EARS!!!!!! (LOUD PIPES FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!

  • 472 big block 7.7 liter. great engine. likes her gas, lol

  • and they said id be late to my own funeral! psssh 7.7 liters of epa eating iron says otherwise!

  • Whats the point of an engine like that in a hearse? A dead man aint that heavy, even if he was the fattest man on earth.. And he shouldnt be in a hurry either..

  • @KapteinOpel

Its a Caddy! Thats the way they did it in the 70s! lol

  • @KapteinOpel A hearse is far from a stock Cadillac. The rear bier section has a strong welded frame, and is covered with thick gauge metal. Let's not forget the added midsections too. Another beefed up area to handle the stress and loads.

These puppies are long and heavy!

  • @cffnmkr13 Anyway, it doesnt NEED a 7,7 liter engine, which was my point.. Its hardly heavier than a full size, fully loaded European cargo van.. An Iveco TurboDaily, version registered for a total weight of 3500 kgs has a 2,5 liter turbodiesel, and keeps up with the traffic just fine.. But going out in style is another matter... ;)

  • @KapteinOpel you have to think these beautys weigh in excess of 3 tons

  • @kix96fan That engine could propel a 15 ton truck without any problem...

  • @KapteinOpel It's not about the dead guy...its about the 6000 lbs+ he is surrounded by!

  • @Karinholmgren1 Comes along nicely with a 2,5 liter diesel engine. ;)

  • WHEN I DIE I WANNA BE TOOKEN IN A HERSE LIKE THIS ONE TO MY GRAVE .

  • Sounds nice! Have you put that thing on acale yet? My '74 Miller Meteor weighed a hefty 6,640 lbs, but it had a roll out bed.

I've got a '73 S&S with a moderately bored out 500 from a '71 Eldo, I need to get that thing back on the road soon.

  • @tommyhawkthirteen

We have not but I am sure it is up there. When we put the sub woofers in we had to cut some of the interior and it is all 1/8" steel plate. We broke so many jigsaw blades we ended up using a grinder. I wouldn't doubt its around 6500 to 7000 lbs. We just got it out for the spring. Good luck with your caddies!

  • sounds great!. got the 472 in my 1970 with GP aswell. purrrs like a fuckin tiger.

  • sounds nice have a 1976 cadillac sedan deville with the 500 ci engine and man does she purrr go and check out my vids

  • Well... It's not the BIGGEST factory motor... That still belongs to Cadillac, though. The 8.2L 500ci Cadillac V8. 365hp and 535 ft/lbs of torque. I've heard that there was actually a 400/550 version made in 1970... >>

  • 7.7L, 472???? what kind of numbers is that beast pushing?

  • It comes from the factory with 345hp and 500ft/lbs... :D

But we have removed the ac compressor and put a Edelbrock High Rise Intake so it might be pushing 350hp and 510lb/ft now

  • Comment removed

  • @TheBaldYeti360, you should be easily around 510-520 ft lbs, the 472s previous to 71 made 525 ft lbs...i think they dropped the compression in71

  • Well I have a 69 Cadillac with 472 the numbers for my year are 375 horses 525 ft lbs torque. That I believe is the most they ever pushed stock.

  • It's loud enough to wake the dead !

  • @buffedbob Yeah, just seen ELVIS walking around looking to reposses his caddy >;)p
