You cant compare the whole of the UK and the USA because America is so much bigger than the UK. However you can compare the UK to certain states or cities in the US because they are more likely to be around the same size. Im comparing the UK to LA. Whether you want to beleive it or not LA is the 'gang capital' of the world and it even has a smaller population than London but its murder rate is still about 10 times higher than London's. 1350 gangs in LA comapred to only 169 in London.

Do you even know that brixton has had gangs like this since the 60s? LAs gangs only started appearing in the 80s. So one could argue that US gangs are copying UK gangs.
