  • can we see morepls? wonderful. things u doing.

  • thanks to al of you guys. wat you did my dis

  • Ignore the rude comments, Shawn.

I'm a Bangladeshi, and I'm having a blast too - WITH unprivileged kids. Who says serving the community can't be fun? ;) Although, I'm working in the education sector, so it's not as grave as the situation you faced.

And there's nothing embarrassing about all this, just the fact the some people seem to have taken this the wrong way. It was a wonderful initiative, and I hope it's helped others take their own initiatives to help people. =)

  • Nice

  • Kool

  • to all d ppl working w/ ngo...MAY THE GOOD LORD KEEP U GOING......U 've been helping lots of less furtunate ppl....Thank you...

  • Haha, it's cool how the kids act so disciplined in front of the camera, I'd love to do this one day.

  • you are a truly amazing person and i admire you for that:)

thanks for helping out. please keep it up[:

  • wow, really good job dude if only the whole world was like this. you deserve alot of respect for this and dont let anyone bring you down.

  • Wish the world would do more of this.

  • That's really awesome of you dude , thanks

  • This video was really fun the voice NO NO NO OML! This is the traditional and culture Indigenous respecting.

Get more achieve to support day by day to poor people this group. All the best!

  • I'm not denying Bangladesh has people who are ridiculously rich. In fact, most of them share your concern - that I'm "making" Bangladesh "look poor".

But with over 80% of the country earning less than $2 a day, many kids unable to go to school, many villages without access to clean and safe drinking water - all I'm really doing is pointing a camera to places most rich Bangladeshis choose to ignore.

But yeah, if you want to ignore the 80+% of the country.. you definitely can have a blast.

  • agree mate great job im thinking now to go on a mission to Philippines thers so many people whu suffering in asia 3rd world countries and we need to help them..... i love them bcse th have so hard lives bth still mange to smile evry day tht really great i think if people will unite her in western site we can change a lot ther for better great job guys takecare

  • @redwoodresidence

dude, watch ur words...when u use them!!

if u cant do anything good for the country u dont have the right to swear others who does that...I am from Bangladesh too....and these videos brings tears of joy!!

and from all the videos if you take the part where we look poor rather than the part where people are getting happiness....than you are a waste.

  • I'm a waste?

I am one of these people

I just recently came to america

  • tht fact mate bth the not doing this video to lough about it only to change somthing ther for better... so stop complaining

  • if only more people were like you

  • Man i feel bad and sad....

i really want to help too.... don't you feel that way?

  • WOOT! Go Bangladesh! But I didn't know my relatives lived like that O_o

  • wtf i tipped in how to download u tube videos

  • awesome!..... thanks for uploading this vid.! =)

  • she has 3 jobs and 3 kids x D wow lol my mum struggles with one job and two children... -. -

  • Excellent ot see someone who helps other people. Seems like no one gives a thought about anything but improving their own lives. Nice Work. =D

  • rite on man

  • This is beautiful. Keep on doing what you do!

  • This is something I want to do when my kids will be teens (wiht them if they want).

    Thanks for being.

  • Keep up the good work, there are not enough people like you in the world today.

    Love,Light and Blessing

  • I think you're reading into this what you want to see. If I've had one message that I've consistently said over and over again - the poor are just like you and me. They aren't objects of pity, they aren't lazy, they are hardworking and want a better life for themselves and our kids.

I think that's a message worth sharing. Also, extreme poverty won't be solved by dumping money on people and walking away.

  • Also, you seem to have a weird definition of what embarrassment is. People should be embarased if they do or say something that makes them look stupid, dumb, or somehow inferior. The people in my videos have done nothing. They were just born into an unfortunate situation. There is nothing embarrassing about that.

The people who should *really* be embarrassed by this video are those live in luxury in the same country with chauffeurs, maids, and servants and are ignoring the plight of the poor.

  • I wish i could go & help but i am more than broke!!! Lol

  • And, finally, this video isn't about putting me in the spotlight. This is about showing people what impact they can have to make a difference. It's about showing where their money has gone after they have donated it.

Without my previous videos, I would not have had any help to offer these two families seen in this video.

  • tht brings great joy and felling tht u change smthing ther for better im sure its hughe difrence for this people carry on mate God bless

  • dude, this really says that everyone can actually make a diffrence, nice work you should be very proud of what you have done, keep it up =]

  • You are a god man..... very nice ... !

  • Hey Jigglypuff - do American lives count more than lives outside of America? As you would put it, fuck that shit if you actually believe that.

There is a reason poverty in this part of the world is called EXTREME poverty compared to America. Don't believe me? Switch places with one of them.

  • Yeah, I know, there are Americans starving Jigglypuff93, BUT they have homeless shelters and a much better government, what this guy is doing is giving money to people who can't live with out it. Next time you complain that it's the Americans that should get the money, think again, then shut your shit hole, because you could be one of those people starving your ass and begging fro money with 3 jobs ... fucking retard

  • why u guys showing this video to whole world

  • Correct me if I'm wrong. But your username is Bengali for "everybody look", right?

I'm going to assume your comment is nothing but your attempt at being ironic.

  • Man I think ur doing a Fantastik job! Keep it up, and God bless u!

  • Comment removed

  • Nice [:

  • you guys are redaly nice

  • amazing you are angels on earth

  • get ur spelling right.

haha.. anyways, this is a good initiative .

  • haha - have you been to south asia? You don't need to go to such a remote, rural, hard-as-hell-to-reach village to "mess with kids".

  • I dont mean to dispespect your movement by any means ,im just saying be careful with the people around you and they dont mees up your reputation...Good job though..

  • True - you're completely right. I first got in touch with Rick from the internet. So, of course, I was very suspicious - so I did my homework.

Rick has been a trusted & respected teacher in both Hawaii (for decades) as well as a respected high school science teacher here at the American Int'l School in Dhaka.

I know, the more I get help from others, the more I risk exposing myself to someone who may have a shady history. But all I can do is see how respected they are within the community.

  • man i got mad respect for you..keep up the good work..just be careful,i have complete trust in you..just be careful..take care

  • I am sorry , did i hear you say you where taught in school to think that one is better if you have more. I see What school is this, How can I do this and can one help where ever one wish. Thanks for sharing, we need more floks like you.

  • GOD BLESS YOU GOD BLESS YOU. you are the people that realy care for others this is the things people should realy be doing.

  • Weeeeeee...I am going to Bangladesh this summer..will stay there for 3 months or so..by the way..not going as a tourist..I am a Bangladeshi myself

  • Hank, You are cool Dude, "Don't Ever forget this! GOD BLESS YOU!

  • You are just amazing guys !!! The one guys broken bangla speaking cracked m e up

  • very good vid. this deserves more views

  • Awesome thing u did man! im amazed that im not the only one that helps people ever since i was a kid i give and help poor people in southamerica and my mom taught me that. I want to see a better world thanks to guys like u it might happen. thank bro great work

  • Great Job! Teach them so they can do for themselves. Learn how to make mosquito nets out of shopping bags using simple tools.

At Doane College I am making these nets for free. Look it up. I just returned from Kenya and it worked great.

    Someone let Bill know.

    Thanks!

    Brad

  • why is your comment getting thumbs down ?

  • because he tells them to work and thats not good for them right? i mean they allredy working 3 jobbs or so

  • lol...he isnt telling them to work..he is just training them to survive !! telling us to somhow teach them how to survive in a place like that !!

  • so amazing just brilliant

  • This video is lovely, the title to the content. I think your heart and mind is in the right place, and hope it forever (future lives :) stays that way. I too sometimes forget how fortunate I am to not have to go without certain things. I'm currently debating going to Costa Rica with someone I met off the net to do some social service work. I want to contribute positiveness to the world. Its sad some people don't realize that it doesn't matter if you don't know others, and that we're connected

  • nice vid

  • speechless :)

  • Tania's tits sent me here.Copy and paste if u too

  • stfu and think of the video...

  • This is a brilliant video, and i think you are doing an amazing thing! Sometimes i forget how privileged i am, and what a rich country i live in, but your videos make me think and remember. One thing i wanted to say, though, is that when you touch someone's feet, it's not necessarily a show of being lower status, it can just be respect- some of my family are indian, and when i see them, i always touch their feet, out of respect. But still, thank you for doing what you're doing!

  • Hi flipflap, this point actually was talked about a bit in an earlier comment. Basically, within family: it's a respect thing (usually age based - younger touching elder). Outside of family it's a status thing.

It actually harkens back to India's caste system. A lower caste could touch the foot of a higher caste. But never the other way around.

  • =')

  • subd <3

  • Dude seriously your a true HERO.

    Godbless you for you kindness.

  • First time ever i thought about giving charity, i won't give normally because i think that places they giving them to are corrupt, this looked different. Also, it wasn't one of those videos you got on TV where you are shown everyone being depressed

  • Athenewins sent me here, but I can't find a joke - Sucks!

  • lol one of the little kids picked his nose, and wiped them off on the other kids shirt... thats so cute. haha

    Great videa, great cause!

  • I am amazed I didn't notice that until after I uploaded it to YouTube :)

Thanks for the kind words :)

  • Why were they living way out there and not in like a town or something?

  • Most villages are like that in Bangladesh - hard to access. But there are tons of people that go to the towns and cities. And that leads to a hyper-urbanization. Places like Dhaka City are strained to the max because of it. They are often better off being in a remote area than in the slums of Dhaka City...

  • I'm so proud of these guys, I just seen them for the fist time, but that's so good for what they're doing. Gods and Goddesses may bless them in their journey.

  • This video shows how youtube can be used in a good helpful way. I think that these guys have done an excellent job and should keep it up. :)

  • go nerd fighters. awesome hank.

  • fucking ey, go nerd fighters!

  • i think its great what all these guys are doing, more people should be like that.

  • Truly inspiring~ =P

  • Cool We Speak This Language My Dad Might Donate If I Show Him This

  • This isn't about fundraising. I accept donations - but I'm not a charity or anything formal like that :)

  • oh one guy said that

  • this vid was beautiful

  • I love you dude, I want to be there with you

  • I could use the company! I wish I had the resources/ability to bring others with me on this project...

  • You will have my company soon if everything works out for me

  • aww i wanna cry

  • wow man that was touching man ifi was groune up and could spell would donate

  • i lol'd

  • this really makes me just wanna donate. Im 16 with a small part time job, get about 120$s a month, i could do so much with it donating. But its hard to consider it, i cant help but compare myself to others who are more fortunate like kids who get whatever they want, rather than those less fortunate like these kids. It'll be hard for me to gather the balls and just donate all my money when i know theres people who get things for free that im trying to save my work money for,but dont donate at all

  • Hey garysan - the fact you are thinking about this is what's the most important. Forget 16. I hope you remember helping the poor when your 61 and older :)

I'm not a charity - so I'm not focused on fundraising. I'm just hoping to build momentum for my work by getting more people interested in watching what I'm doing :)

  • I'm not an organization - I'm just a guy who does this as an individual. But in this video I did get the help of a local small org. I try my best to research the orgs I team up with. So far, I think I have been lucky in finding some orgs.

  • Hey - I love your honesty man :)

  • Tania's tatas sent me here lol sry i know this is serious. Great video tho.

  • tania sent me here best video she has /cheer to you your doing a great thing Gl with your studies and work

  • its really nice what your doing and if I had some more mony i would support, btw Brad Sucks FTW

  • awesome dude, what your doing is amazing :')im to young to donate money but im sure ill start donating in a few years :D (and btw the age in my channel is not my real one)

  • then you should do as i did :) go to "thehungersite" it's a site where you can vote daily and give money to them without signing in or giving away any of ur money. im just a kid (15) and i do this daily, i have no idea how many ppl i've helped, but i guess i've done something ;)

and no, this 'aint spam, i just wanted to give away the info i held, and share it with you guys :)

PS: sorry about my horrible english.. im retarded :(

  • This isn't a charity - so I'm not obsessed about donations or anything like that. And hey, I am a YouTube partner - so the more people who sub and watch this channel, the more potential adsense money I can get. Who knows? That may one day be enough to keep doing this project or one like it :)

  • man this makes me cry for real.. The world is so fucking unfair.

i wish i had money, then i would donate too. Need to graduate and get a job

  • hey tjalolx - don't worry about feeling bad about not being able to donate. I'm not a charity - so, I'm not too obsessed with fundraising.

Just hope you consider sticking around and watching my other videos :)

  • GIMME MONEY TOO

  • wtf

  • woopdy doo do you want a congratulations just because they are not as lucky as us doesn't mean they deserve any better. but cool you gave them money but it doesn't mean you have to go post it online i think you just want attention if you really want to help out do what you do for them not for you.

  • They deserve AS much as us. So quit being a ignorant monkey and at least be supportive.

The way you're sounding, you seem more like the animal that "they" are discriminated as.

  • If I wanted attention - I'd make videos of myself in an artifically high pitched voice and pretend that I'm a 12 year old kid.

  • awsome!

  • I'll be sponsoring a child once I get out of college for sure.

  • wow that was so cool im too young to donate though,

  • No worries :) This isn't about donations :) This about what we together as a YouTube community can do :) Subscribe, rate, comment - all of that helps build momentum :)

  • awesome

  • Man i think what your doing is great, so awsome, man once i start getting money i will hopefully be able to donate you some money, i'm only 15 tho so finding a job is a bit tough keep up the work :)

  • This is awesome... I did prefer the music used later during the clip. No offense to bradsucks, the music is great just doesn't seem to fit in as well. Anyway, all in all wonderful clip

  • The song in the end is by Josh Woodward. I just love his work.

In terms of finding royalty-free or creative commons licensed music, Bradsucks tends to fit a bit better than most of the stuff I find...

  • lol brad sucks is everywhere

  • The funny thing is that wasn't the case before I used this song. I actually had to get special permission from Brad to use this. It was only later that Brad started using the BY-SA creative commons license to allow everyone else to do the same :P

  • god bless you

  • Thank you very much for your reply.. I have been donating for last 5 years to different organizations... and since you already started a project.. I will add another donation to your project in addition to the project I am already working with.. Please let me know how and what needs to be done so that you can minimize your struggle and hope to help you go forward in helping poor people.. I will be looking forward to hearing from you soon.. thank you very much...

  • Well, the two biggest challenges is the expenses of doing this project and the lack of help while in Bangladesh. I have well-to-do aunts and uncles in Bangladesh but they could care less about my project and about helping me with a place to stay. The other big challenge is finding ways to fund the expenses like equipment, airfare, and food. I do this full time yet I don't take a cut of the donations for living expenses...

  • Hey I also donate money to Bangladesh and other poor countries. I would like to be part of this group.. I really appreciate the work you guys are doing so far. I was planning to start something like this... but I think I don need to.. cuz we already got one.. I will definitely look forward to help on behalf.. Thank you and appreciate for the support to these poor peoples

  • Thanks for your support. A lot of people see this work and just want to copy what I'm doing. But I'm struggling enough as it is to keep doing what I'm doing - I could use all the support I can get! :)

  • hey u r doing great jobs by helping all those bengali people who are need and i am very very proud of you. however, when you talked about touching feet, its not really entirely means that you touch someones feet when you have a lower status. Its not about status, its about respect. Muslims touch their elders feet for many religious occasion, which is very sacred, i know if other muslims who have heard ur comment would easily get offended. But in ur case, i believe she should not touch ur feet

  • It's a tricky thing for sure. Young people can touch elders - butnot the other way around.

And others won't let me touch their feet because they think I'm a rich educated foreigner. There is definitely an implied status to the greeting.

And touching feet isn't a Muslim greeting. It's cultural - not Islamic.

  • ya i understand when you said that they wouldnt allow you to touch their feet, obviously i wouldnt allow them too! And ya i am surprised that thouching feet its cultural. You know some of the very religious people will get mad if you didnt touch their feet when you are getting married ar even in Eid! But its their belief. Sorry for misunderstanding :D

  • You're right! Religious Bengalis sometimes expect you to touch their feet (especially if they are older than you, more educated, or wealthier). But you won't find this trend in other Muslim countries like in the middle east and elsewhere. :)

  • yup you wouldnt find this in middle east for sure, i was there! ok WOAH that was quite a nice discussion about culture! Ok may i ask a question? Do you know if a member can work in bangaldesh like you to thouse in need?? and can you let me know the process if there is any. I would love to help my country, but not by satying at toronto! :D

  • Member of what though?

  • oop i meant not a member of something, but any person, who is very interested to work with organization. do you have any suggestions? or maybe any idea to how i can start??

  • I do actually! I have it on my blog:

    uncultured(dot)com/service

VSO is one that operates in Bangladesh.

  • Thank you sooo much! I appreciate your help and keep up the great works!!

  • I am a Bangladeshi minority(Buddhist), and I remember growing up my parents teaching me to touch the elders feet when you are greeting them. I am really bothered with it especially when it comes to touching a strangers feet. Hey thanks for the video of CTG hill tracks. When is your latest video coming, please also film of the minority tourcherd by the muslims during the BNP government.

  • 2:40 your reaction was just great right there.

  • How fantastic to see YT used in this way and huge kudos to you guys!Wonderful <3

  • This is trully amazing! God Bless!!

  • Great work! Congratulaions! *****X10^6!

  • Great Videos and profile.

    Bravo for your special work;

    MAGNITUDE

The stars tonight are for your eyes.

Yes, for no one else except you in this moment.

In this moment, dizzy, crazy, mad, heavenly mad.

Stay in touch! All the best.

    Cordially,

    B.K. Bazhe

  • I really want to help you to raise awareness. I want to organise something that wizard rockers and/or youtubers can do to help you. Would you be up for that? Amy<3

  • Nerdfighters FTW! :) Feel free to PM me!

  • Way, Way good!

    Wonderful work Shawn!

    Thank you!

  • ur the best. . . keep it going . .

  • another awesome video man.

I am surprised about your misconception of salam. My last name is Bhuiyan, meaning my family name is one of the highest status in Bangladesh, and I have always been taught to salam the elders. It is not to say that your status is lower then another's, it is to pay deep respect to the elders.

  • hey banglars - am I an elder in this video? So why is this older person trying to touch my feet? I'm not saying that salam is done 100% as a status differential. In family settings, its more of an age thing. Outside family settings, its a wealth thing.

I have yet to see an elder salaam a younger EXCEPT when there is a difference of wealth. When there is no difference of wealth I have yet to see a elder salaam a younger. No misconceptions here I'm afraid.

  • you are right too !!

  • absolutely right ! its the culture in Bangladesh !

  • lame

  • I checked some of your vids out. I apologize as my videos clearly aren't as interesting as muted videos about pirating Mac software.

  • tell me whats the point in this video

  • Well how would you define a point? Like, it won't help you solve a rubik's cube or get you free Mac software. So, if that's your standard, I'll concede there is no point :P

  • okay so your video has no meaning

  • Well at least you have some of your own videos up and allow people to comment & rate them. A lot of people who criticize other people's videos don't put up videos themselves.

So I commend you for at least being someone who's more than a critical blank box...

  • you are a moron.

  • that was a reply to rubikssolver08

  • lol okays

  • THE LORD WILL BLESS YOU!

  • Keep up the good work. I feel sorry for these bengali kids since they live in poverty and their country will probably be under water in a few decades.
