This one match decided the fate of the 2011 season for Rafa. A win would've erased the memory of all those Masters 1000 losses to Djokovic earlier in the year and kept Rafa as the king of Slams (recent) and natural surfaces. Wasn't to be, too good from Djokovic.

When Nole got warmed up, Rafa got raped :( -- was really good that first set, till misfortune struck at *4-5, *30-0 for Rafa. After that, one way traffic for Nole as Rafa continued to flounder :(. Hats off for a stern performance anyway and congratz on first Wimby! Nadal vs Djokovic again in Toronto final perhaps...? Will Rafa finally get him back there maybe?

Rafa's going to find it tougher i guess to win slams .. now he'll have 2 tough contenders... Delpo and djokovic ! Even if he gets through Del potro . Djokovic is going to be a humongous task ...

@TheFedererNadallover Yeah I think Rafa would want to keep on trying to win something in the final and keep pressing forward to have a constant crack at Nole. We'll see if it does happen again, but for sure it's difficult to take the storm away from Nole after he's won 5 straight times now and what's mentally painful, all 5 on finals and all of which we're painful, either he came close to winning on his least preferred surfaces, or got destroyed on his beloved surfaces. Delpo? I dunno, we'll see

@BrotherTree1 true.... i just said Del potro because of what he did in that 09 USO .. plus.. he played really well at Wimbledon too .. and he could be a hard nut to crack for anyone .. in fact .. i'd put him as 2nd favourite after Djokovic . I say so because Nadal has lost to Nole the last 5 times and might have a bit of a let down ..

@TheFedererNadallover Del potro is still kinda finding his feet on the summer HC surfaces, but yeah once he's used to them after some practice, he's gunna be dangerous again, most particularly to Rafa 4 sure -- he likes eating up those high topspin balls and blasting them deep in the corners which hurt Rafa the most. What I was almost impressed with delpo was him S&V against Rafa in wimby -- so nice to see him adding further repertoire to his game. That said, that's gunna give rafa more trouble

its possible to beat nadal, even at his best. Nole defiantly proves it and has beaten nadal the last 5 matches i think????......with great wins in nadal favourite surface......you just need the tools and game that nole has, also confidence and be mentally strong in the big points. Nole was just too good. Rafa made a ton of unforced errors too. I was hoping that Nadal would take the 4th set. Djokovic deserves it though. Wish both the best of luck
